"Spectators" should not occupy a server slot.

Got a great new idea for the game?

"Spectators" should not occupy a server slot.

To free up server slots for real players who want to enter the game. Players could record a game with a full set of 32 players.
To a Physicist, white and black is the presence and absence of color.
To a Fine Artist, white and black are just shades and tints of color.
To a Painter, any paint that you could get into a can is a color.
THIS color, on the other hand, is #b4d455.

+1 and teams could be balanced of the server was full and there was 1 spectator.

Completely agree. Hopefully it is technically possible to change.

The biggest problem here is that Spectators, if too many, may sap too much of the server's bandwidth.

Maybe an editable limit to the number of spectators.

EDIT: And there's the future 64 player max...

yes, this makes perfect sense. maybe lag problems, but not enough people spectate anyways so it doesn't matter
I don't see why more people don't makes forts. even if not useful, they're a lot of fun

This is one of those things that just make me go 'really? it doesn't already work this way?'
Ben put all that effort in to this spectator mode no one can use without being a dick by occupying a server slot that could be used be an actual player...

Someone qualified may correct me, but isn't it pretty much imposible for spectators to not take up a slot, seeing as the server still has to transfer and receive information from them?

not really, if they enter and join the spectator team, the slot number will go down. Plain and simple (kinda) but what happens when the server is full and poeple tr to leave the spectator team?

I agree with you, but I don't think it's possible. You are basically taking a player slot when joining, and basically then just joining an invincible team. So in retrospect, it's very unlikely.

Actually the server doesn't need to receive any information from spectators, just send it.

Might help at least a little bit with bandwidth issues.
