Disabling run on low health

Got a great new idea for the game?

Disabling run on low health

Postby BlindSniper » Thu May 03, 2012 12:46 pm

Subject pretty much explains everything. Just think: In real life, would you be able to run when you're heavely damaged? No? But of course: it will be hardest thing.

So, the idea is: When players health is low (25 HP or less), the shift button will no longer make him run. That's all.

Pretty simple idea, adds abit of realism and balance.

Realism would be only headshots kill instantly and other injuries kill faster or slower, from minutes to hours, even an heartshot would take as least 1 minute to kill. Oh, and a shot in the spine would completely paralyse you.

Ace of Spade isn't Fallout, keep full mobility, whatever the health

Did I say that "oh hai guys i wanna make fallout out of ace of spades", fancypants? No. It's just an idea, I don't want game to turn all about realism, neither unrealistic. It will make people more accurate, no "rushing in combat with grenades", but camping and building fast-hand structures for self-defence. Game was actually meant for that.

Favors the SMG quite a bit. You can just spray'n'pray, boom, people can't run from you.
So my anwser is no.

I vote No. Getting back to the tent to refill your life is hard enough already. And if I have to walk all the way back, I might as well just save some time and kill myself.

Just finish me off when you shoot me.

I'm not a fan of the idea. It would hinder scoring a lot.

I wouldn't really mind this. It seems like everyone else in this thread seems to forget what it was like just 1 update ago. Walking isn't very slow.

To be fair, they're right about this giving smg'ers even more of an advantage.

Nah, If anything I think higher spread would be better.
If you want a scientific explanation I will say one thing, Adrenaline.
You'd be too scared to stop running and you wouldn't feel it, So you'd still be able to run.

Not really. This would give an advantage to all weapons. Two shots to the chest with rifle would effectively disable you. A blast with the shotgun would ensure your target won't secape.

People regularly forget that we wear helmets.

To a Fine Artist, white and black are just shades and tints of color.
To a Painter, any paint that you could get into a can is a color.
THIS color, on the other hand, is #b4d455.

Going with a yes, even if it might get a tad annoying. He never said no running while being shot at, right? Correct me if I am wrong but he only said no running in low health, which makes sense to me.

Who would be able to run properly after receiving 3 body shots?

if youre near death sprinting is the least of your concerns. Plus that damage range pretty much makes a smg head shot cripple you. Screw that.

are you suggesting it forces us to use the never used sneak function?

Probably. I'd be more worried about bleeding out than not being able to sprint :/

No, where did I even say that? I said RUN as in sprint properly, not walk.

Gentlemen, did we even need sprint in the first place? Abolish sprinting alltogether or add more parkour elements to the game imo.
I din't like this ONLY for the fact it favours SMG users, if smg users weren't so OP then this would be fine. Then again, I don't want this turning into fallout either.

P.S Don't delete my post this time Doc :P.
