[Poll] Game Instructions

Got a great new idea for the game?

Should there be some form of game-mode instructions?

Yes, between the Loading screen and the Team Select screen.

I did look in the Do not suggest list but didn't see one. Accidental re-make suggestion :)

Hm, you dont have to exactly be a genius to work out the controlls and anyway, as already mentioned you can add a line explaining the rules on ther server.
tbh, if someone couldnt work it out i wouldnt accually want them in game :L

I never mentioned controls. It is for the game rules and objectives etc. With all the different game-modes, it can be confusing at the start knowing what exactly to do. Yes they can slowly be learnt or by asking, but it would get new players helping the teams faster if there was simply an instructional page.

There can be lines added, and some servers do, but with the current chat system, it is often incredibly easy to miss, being both small and quick to disappear.

If you don't want new people in the game then you basically want the game to die.

Having a small gamemode brief under the loading bar would seem sufficient to me.
"CTF: Capture the opposing team's intel!"
"TC: Capture as many territories as possible!"
"TDM: Run and shoot!"
You get the picture.

Edit: Actualy, having it on the team selection screen seems better.

Yeah i suppose I was being a tad ridiculous, however, the above idea does appeal to me alot and besides, I dont think there is enough to say about most game modes to justify a whole new screen (I mean, most are self explanitry just by their names)

Well, a new screen doesn't cost anything and could be clicked past by people who knew the information very easily, so wouldn't hinder people much, if at all hopefully.

It would have my support if this was implanted in the loading screen.
Would be very effective in game modes like Babel and Zombies.

I find that an incredibly selfish attitude. If you want the game to thrive, you need some form of instructions.

I couldn't figure out the game when I first played and I can assure you I'm older than you with a name like 'umadbro'. I had to ask questions to other players, which meant I couldn't fully join in until I was told the objectives and rules. If I had been shown them before playing, I would have been able to enjoy the game earlier.

There is a huge difference between showing the game rules and being spoon fed. Not being able to see the difference is unfortunate on your part.

THe game is already like most other games and the controls ar very similar and self explanatory. If they can figure that out they shouldn't even be plaing this game.

If you read the thread, there is nothing about controls. It is about the game objectives and rules for the individual game modes.
