Hello

I have an idea : instead of making 1 set of files for player's look for both team, why not making a set for Blue and another for Green ?

That would allow greater modding, why not making a team looking like special forces, while the other looks like terrorists ? Why don't making USA vs Germany with reallistic uniforms, to fit with a WWII pack ? With this upgrade, it will be possible.

You want both teams to have the same look with only color variation, like it is currently ? No problem, just make both teams have the same files.

It would be easy to make. Just replace the current player skins files (playerhead.kv6...) by separate models for each team. Taking the example of playerhead.kv6, it would become playerheadb.kv6 and playerheadg.kv6.

+ Improved modding, ability to make different uniforms for each team. Will enhance modding.

- will have to rename all current player skins. Players may take time to adapt to that.

Also, it would be nice if it was also possible for weapons, blue team having other weapon skins than green team.

This + weapons + server-side skins = real zombies in zombie gamemode.

Definetely worth a +, thought it increases loading times and could make cheating easyer. I could finally have a Finns vs. Soviets-battle in the game, which has been my dream since i started playing.

@ Internet => In itself, uploading skins to the server would be a great idea. But many players would be tempted by anything, I'd expect seeing many (really too much) golden weapons and other ridiculous stuff like this.

@ lehma => weight of skins is almost negligible. A kv6 model over 10kb is already a big model, even the mounted Gatling gun featured in my signature is around 30kb and it's bigger than the player itself (and I REALLY wanted an huge gun when I made this one). Even if every player had his own set of custom skins, it wouldn't be more than a few Mo.

btw lehma, check my classic guns weapon pack. I'm sure you'd love one of the weapons inside :-)

It's some quality work my friend, but i'll be sticking to my M/28. Mostly 'cuz i made it myself..

I think this would be great, would help modders quite a bit and wouldn't take too long to set up.

I have an idea, which wont propably make it. But this will be a bump nonetheless...

What if, instead of 2 types of models for each team (blue and green), we had just an .ini file, in which the models would be defined by filename? IF this would be combined with packets (the server mod download thing), then we could have an unlimited amount of models, which the server could switch around. Like, a model named zombie.kv6 would be defined and servers running zombie mod could trigger the game to switch green team to these skins, while normal servers would use green.kv6. And maybe pyspades could allow each team to have about 4 different player models (like CS), which we could switch in our game folders or download from the server.

Propably wont make it, because of difficulty, but i think that this would be awesome.
