Bigger/Longer Chat Box

The chat box as it currently stands is only 5 lines long (or is there a way to make it longer? If so, feel free to share and lock the thread), which is much to short to have a conversation between more than a couple people. In addition, there is no way to go back and find what someone said more than 5 lines before.

The solution might be a different chat system, or at least one like Minecraft (hear me out) where, when you go to type, the chat box increases in size so you can see the history of the last 10-15 lines (maybe it's longer, but you get the idea if you've ever played it).

I know in a lot of cases, this isn't necessary, especially with the lack of teamwork and mute players that naturally find this game and enjoy griefing or such. But when people do want to work together, the chat system isn't very useful. A larger chat system could actually encourage teamwork.

Definitely, I'd like to have 'chat history', so we could see previously missed messages, sometimes your in a fight and don't pay attention when someones talking to you

I wish we had something that autosaves chatlogs. It saves it as a .txt and has name of he file as the date and Time.

should at least let pgup/pgdn scroll the chatbox, chat logging would be sweet too

also when i write a big message and my mate writes a little one his message lasts as long as mine - and thats totall bullmeat dude, i am voting against current mechanisms

The longer chatbox should appear when we press t or y to chat, with about 30-50 last chat posts.
Other than that, the normal box should also be increased about 2 times.

I do think we should have the option to toggle the size, kinda like in Tribes2. Sometimes I want a larger chat box, and at times I would rather not have one at all.

yes, other than sometimes noone will talk, I get lonely. Also it is alwas being filled with kills.

I definitely agree with having a bigger default chat box.

And I love the idea of showing 4-5 times more message log after pressing T or Y. This would solve several problems:

• Not being able to see enough chat log (obviously)
• Having too much chat log when you don't want it. (it will only expand when you're paying attention to it already)
• Accidentally having the chat activated and you can't figure out why you're not moving. (I hate when this happens!) If the chat log expands when you're typing, then you'll immediately realize that you're in typing mode.
