The Easy Griefer Votekick
A good idea to counter griefing is that a notification comes up in the chat box of that your placed blocks are being destroyed and the nickname of the person who is destroying your blocks.
Only then a /votekick command can be used on the person griefing your blocks with the reasons :"grief griefer griff graff gref grif grie griefing giraff griefin (including capital versions)" etc.

If you votekick a person which is griefing your blocks for griefing, and you have been notified about it, the votekick only requires 2-5 /y votes (Also called The Easy Griefer Votekick). If you votekick a person who didn't grief your blocks, then it requires more than 5 /y votes.

This can be coded in a pyscript, and would give more power to the griefed. To prevent those being griefed acting like a Griefer Patrol (with that I mean people shouldn't votekick others for griefing if they destroyed only 1-5 blocks, that shouldn't be classified as serious griefing), a server-side limit should be set for the amount of blocks that need to be destroyed in order for The Easy Griefer Votekick to be applied.

This makes griefing by fulling fort windows and waiting for people to remove them even easier.

What if it's someone on the other team destroying your blocks, or what if your structure is almost destroyed and someone's just trying to clear the few blocks that are left? All of these types of suggestions have one problem: they put limitations on building in general.

If you read the entire post you could see the griefer had to break more than 5 blocks in order for The Easy Griefer Votekick to come in effect. So cleaning up can be allowed. Extra note: The counter of how many blocks you have destroyed of someone else restarts within a minute.

I still think ideas like these hurt the people trying to legitimately build more than they hurt griefers.

Because it's just a game. A non-permanent one as well (referring to frequent map changes). So why bother kicking a griefer since the server is going to change/restart the entire map sooner or later.
Plus, most people there just wanna log on and set to 'spawn and charge' robot mode for the rest of the day. Votekicking is for those actually focused on the game.
Also pinpoint is griefing paradise. If you don't like griefers, go to another server with more active administrators or a server with a map that is not as griefable.

I LUUURRRVE PINPOINT. I like also the raised version, but no servers host it. Anyway, my favourite server (aloha 1ctf 24/7 pinpoint) never resets.

Team killing is the best way to stop griefers. But you should be able to teamkill even if they break shit with a grenade.

I disagree on that. Ten seconds and they're back.

It is useless against them, http://ace-spades.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=5578 but this might fix it.

I like this idea. Sounds like something that can be written, and rather useful for banning someone after the game.

I know exactly how to stop this.

What we should have is an option to see the cam of a teammate, so say if you typed /cam deuce666 then it would go to him, then you just type /uncam to go back to a view of yourself. This way, if someone is saying HEY GUYS SOMEBODY IS GRIEFING, you can check and know for sure.

How about blocks that can only be destroyed by their creator or an enemy? If their creator is offline, they could be destroyed by a friendly player.

If somebody builds something that nobody wants to have, he can start a "votegrief". Its like the votekick, but the initiator can grief the blocks of the "votegriefed" player for 5 minutes.
