Equipment Slot/Backpack expansion

So yeah, why not add and " equipment slot". This would add an additional item to the scroll bar. You would chose this item like you do with guns.

Equipment
Medical Crate
Ammo Boxes
HMG
RPG

-Medkits Medical crates can be chosen as a piece of equipment. They are placeable like blocks, and dispense X amount of health, possibly 500 to 1000 before running out. Once they run out they do not disappear, but stay until the block below them is broken. Empty boxes can be refilled by someone who has a medical box themselves. This feature is to give feeling to them, such as the excitement to stumble upon one only to be dismayed and find it is empty. Enemies can also use Medical boxes.

-Ammo Boxes
Same as Medical crates except they dispense Ammo not Health

-HMG The heavy machine gun is a piece of equipment unlocked after X points have been achieved. When a player equips the weapon it functions as shown in this video.

Any player can use it, however the person who placed it can kick someone else off of it by using it. It is destroyed by the RPG or having the block underneath destroyed.


-RPG The RPG is unlocked after X points are scored, and functions as seen in this video.

Equipping Items
Upon entering the game, instead of chosing your weapons, you would see a screen like this:

All equipment is listed, and you click on only 1 primary, then the rest is up to you. Certain measures could be put in place however to prevent people from using only grenades. There is also a "clear inventory" button.

To change equipment, instead of suiciding you must return to the tent. By pressing Q the equipment screen opens again and you have the option to chose new weapons, or be able to chose something you unlocked.

I can't think of any other supplies at the moment, maybe binoculars or a radio which would allow you to mark out location for mortars if Ben adds them, or something like satchel charges.

Medkits should be able to distribute less health. A maximum of 80, probably.
To a Physicist, white and black is the presence and absence of color.
To a Fine Artist, white and black are just shades and tints of color.
To a Painter, any paint that you could get into a can is a color.

A nice idea, but it seems like people are trying to change AoS into BattleField 3.
Them tunnel rats may evade my rifle... but them noobies can suck my lead!

I'd prefer medpacks that give you regen while you're standing on them.

Idk, a single person has 100 health, so that wouldn't really help with teamwork. The medpacks are meant to help your entire team and act as a mini tent. Maybe limit 1-2 uses per person.

I don't get this logic, just because it is in Battlefield 3 doesn't mean it isn't a good idea and won't hamper gameplay

ammo boxes and med-tents need to be dropped by choppers IMO. but, if no heli's, then i guess. not totally sure about this one.
I don't see why more people don't makes forts. even if not useful, they're a lot of fun

I don't know.

But the idea seems good, personally.
It's annoying when you run out of ammo or health in the middle of nowhere...

maybe. the problem is, this would support people who have bad ammo management. so, it would require teamwork (heli drops,, supply trucks) to do it
I don't see why more people don't makes forts. even if not useful, they're a lot of fun

it's a good idea, I would say that maybe it could replace grenades, or have it so you only get 1-2 grenades if you select ammo or medkits.

maybe medkits heal a bit less to yourself, but heal your team mates more. there is a system like this in Killing Floor, and it helps motivate people to heal each other and use team work more

I have written extremely organized OP's before that no replys too. The idea is more important to organization. I have however updated the OP a bit seeing as this is now the "Equipment slot" thread.

Organization pulls them to the idea if it is well distributed.

Having it cluttered however can drive readers away.

Other than that, I like the new layout better than the old one.
