Crouching motion or toggle

Got a great new idea for the game?

It isnt a legitimate tactic because it requires absolutely no skill or map knowledge to do. The same people who take advantage of the crouch spamming are the ones who throw all of their grenades at one target and normally only use shotguns. They do it because they know it works. If it didnt make them immensely harder to hit, they wouldnt do it.

And flanking them or using other means to get them isnt usually an option because there are other skilled players on their team who will take me out because im focused on avoiding this one kid.

And they can also line up a shot more easily this way by simply ignoring what they see crouched. Since theres no motion to it, its just as easy to line up a shot whilst crouching repeatedly as it is while just standing still. The only difference is that they cant be hit as easily.

If you ever played halo CE on pc, its the equivalent of going outside the map on death island, where you cant be shot but you can still shoot other players

From this thread we learn: using cover = good

It's not abusing game mechanics at all. That's like saying a trench is an abuse of the terrain.

Honestly, players employing this technique are easier to kill than those moving around, because they're so focused on the crouching they usually forget to relocate. At all. Just point your gun where their head was, and the moment it re-appears in the exact same spot, blow their head off. Really, it's not that big a deal. You can also render their strategy somewhat useless by moving yourself. Generally they stand up to spot enemies, crouch, aim roughly where they saw the enemy, and stand, adjust and fire. If you're moving around, this lowers the tactic's effectiveness, as they spend more time exposed finding and aiming again.

Just be thankful the game doesn't have these. THEN you'd have problems...

How is it not abusing mechanics? Using a trench is asolutely nothing like rapidly crouching. NOTHING.

Idgaf if people use cover, its a legitimate tactic. It actually requires you to know what youre doing. Whereas this requires no skill, no map knowledge, and since it works, those people dont learn to play professionally.

It is not easy to hit someone who is doing this. Im talking about people who are SPAMMING the ctrl key. As in, hitting it so fast that the human brain has difficulty tracking it.

Trust me, ive faced enemies doing this on 3 different computers, each unique and with a different isp, and there IS NO consistent way to time shots on someone doing this.

Ill say it again: if it didnt work, they wouldnt do it.

I've been killed by people whose heads were behind blocks making them impossible to hit. I'm not sure if this was some exploit where they can see me and I can't see them, but its kinda irritating. It could also be lag skipping the frames of their standing time when they shot me.

If this rapid crouching makes you unhittable while you can see them clearly, that sounds like an exploit. If they're crouching real fast and THEY need to time THEIR shots, then its fair.

No, this is not that. You can still see the stay up for the same amount of time as they are up.

Besides that, either you are at an angle where they can only just see you, or you are killed by someone else when you think it is the hiding guy (since you cant see names how would you know?)
