FYI I won't suggest blood coming out of your eye which then sticks on your vision

First a flinching effect, like in Half-Life 2: Episode 2, when you are hit the entire screen flashes white when you are hit,
It lasts like 0.5 seconds or so, but you'll flinch too when you get shot irl!

Muzzle flash, why this idea? Look at the header above and look at the blueman's rifle. Obviously it's put there for a reason.
Muzzle flash would indicate better when a gun is being shot. However the position of the muzzle flash will be tough to place for custom guns. Either 2 gun models have to be made, one without muzzleflash and one with. Or a voxel with the specified color must tell where the flare has to be positioned. Flare can be modded too.

Once you get hit, a transparent silhouette of a deuce will pop up on the leftabove corner on your screen, and the areas where you have been hit will glow red, like in Red Orchestra. Soldiers irl can feel a bullet entering that part of their body, however video games can't make simulate bullets entering our body yet, so that is a "compensation".

Ever thought about legshots? Once you get shot in the leg you can't jump/sprint/autoclimb and you'll crouch automatically for 10 seconds. Because taking a bullet to your knee hurts as duck.

dislike this topic if you didn't like ejected bullet casings, want to be slowed down once you get shot in da knee

Muzzle flash could be like bullet casings (kv6 files in 0.75) except the muzzle flash would be static and would last for a millisecond. That way you could adjust it for long and short weapons.

I also sense cheating in this but if the file would be like playermodel part and would give errors on start up if modified then it's all ok.

If there would be muzzle flashes and they would be client side they just can NOT be moddable, because players will abuse this making a giant arrow or arrows pointing at the loaction of the shot, but if it's server side then ok. Also no IG flintching, I flintch while playing the game enough, thank you. Because often the area is quiet, you're just walking along when SUDDENLY a wild Deuce appears !

legshot idea is useless - no one will aim for the legs, so it is just random really.
flinch sounds incredibly annoying
damage display is meh, just use health bar like a normal
muzzle flash would be ok I guess, but no big red flame thing, it just looks strange if that happened.

Anyway would like to see the " hit cross-hair indicator ".
What is HCI-(hit cross-hair indicator) ? That is a tool that popups at the cross-hair when you hit a enemy its used on COD and is very useful to prevent "laggtraps" like i shoot a guy 3 times in the head and he doesnt die or 20 bullets out of smg so HCI- will show you that the bulled doesnt hited him. also usefull on blind fire , granade over wall and other situations like the "dance" when to players come wery close and so on...
AoS The worst game with the greatest potential .

You can already make a huge arrow on top of the players head showing exactly where they are, even when they're not shooting...

muzzle flash, possibly a 'recoil' on a bullets impact if you are hit in the sense that your gun jumps a little upwards left right down whatever, but if there was maybe just a small flash to give away an enemies position I think that would be worth adding.
