Got a great new idea for the game?

A compass would be nice for teamwork. In real combat, soldiers often indicate where enemies are in degrees on a compass.

Having your current bearing in degrees on screen, possibly at the top center, would be simple to implement and would help with teamwork. With such a system, one could quickly indicate to their teammates a general direction to watch for enemies without needing to look at the map and coordinates.

Thoughts?

I find this rather confusing, but it's probably, because you didn't explain the system very much, all i understood, was that it would show your bearing, but would it really that simple ? It would be confusing to say: "32 degrees West" And now you're looking all over the place until you find those 32 degrees, an o' clock system would be kind of better, but this could easily be made using teamspeak. So in conclusion I'm neutral about this, but if you work out the little details, you might get me on the + side. ;)

Degrees on a compass are out of 360 all the way around, so for example, youre with a group of teammates and spot an enemy at 200 degrees, you would call out "200" and, provided your teammates know what that means, they could quickly scan around 200 degrees. The only thing you'd need to learn would be figuring out which way to turn, which is pretty quick to learn.

This way, you dont have to guesstimate what sector theyre in, call out a sector, and wait for your teammates to check their maps, which would likely result in most of them dying if theres not enough cover.

It may seem complicated, but once you use it its actually pretty simple. Explaining it is just a bit difficult.

Atleast a suggestion that would improve teamplay.

And it''s not hard to understand.I totally understand your idea.

But i think the Battlefield Commo-rose. Is the final solution.

Great idea, compass at the top of the screen like in ARMA (I think) will be great in this game.

Wait off topic

I think that instead of an actual compass you should just make bearings like on your map there would be a compass rose. I don't think it would be too hard to remember the general directions. However, you can't point out exact directions just general areas.

If a compass was to be added, it should replace minimap, as otherwise the screen would be just too cluttered.
