Maybe if blocks had different attributes for taking damage and whatnot you wouldn't have to be replacing them all the time. Or I know this would anger some folk but maybe halving/quartering the block size for more detailed environments and making prebuilt block structures to throw together in front lines. yet digging and what not still pulls out the same volume of blocks for tunnel creation. Might make vehicles easier with a less jagged plane as well.
I know it'd take some map rewrites and tool edits, but I checked out Ken Silverman's demo's years ago and the
engine power is definitely there. It won't be long before this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CCZIBDt1uM stuff starts coming out, which is super awesome too.
Anyhow, either way AoS is pretty sweet as is. If that's too much reworking stuff then ah well.
