Radio commands

Got a great new idea for the game?

Radio commands

Postby Headshotter » Fri Mar 02, 2012 12:50 pm

in short: pretty much like the ones we have in CS1.6, perhaps with just less options, more game related, such as

>Get the intel!
>Go left!
>Go right!
>Take cover!
>Tunnel!
>Charge!
>Enemy!
>Follow me
>Stick together
>Hold this position

perhaps to avoid sound spam, they could be text-only at first, but maybe appearing somewhere else than the chat, perhaps above your ammo counter in the right side? what are your thoughts on this? i searched the DO NOT suggest list and there is no results for radio stuff

Look,if we had that idea I would get so pissed of people spamming text to charge!or follow me.
People can troll with this.
If you do not look behind yourself, I will secretly steal your cheese.
A man who once did this, ended up being a cheese cake.
(This sig had more awesomeness before it was gone)

Make it like Battlefield 2/2142 commo-rose .You press Q and a menu appears. You aim whit your mouse for the right comand and on witch target. It's very easy and very simple. It will give teamwork a large boost.I played Bf2 for 5 years so I know the importance of teamchat.

Commo-rose whit decent squad system is just pure gamegasm.

Example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwyuyEjfonM from 2142.

+1 to the press-Q, get radial menu idea...
But not chat commands, unless there is a nice arrow above the player's head visible to those in same team... So i know who to tk :P

What about highlighting an area on the map, and spotting enemies?
Spotting - BF style, on map at least, maybe a little icon on screen at the location. (press Q while looking at enemy spots them)
Highlighting - Players can use the radial menu to highlight an area on the map, it creates a little dot on the map.
The more players select the same place (in 10, 20, something block range), the bigger/brighter the dot on the map.
This would make telling players where to go, what to pay attention to A LOT EASIER...
Since many players have to select a spot, it would be at least partially troll proof.

Those were my 2 cents on radio commands.

Also: shutting up because i have caused some annoyances lately.

If some random Deuce keeps spamming that chat, i don't think that people will continue to read it and just get on with the game, heck people might be starting to read -Spam the intel !-Spam left !-Spam right !-Spam cover !-Spam-tunnel !-Spam !-Enemy's spamming !-Spam me !-Spam together !-Spam this position !, i know i would, although the spam problem might not be so bad after a while this feature might probably get ignored making this a waste of effort.
