Yes and since you could see them only from 1st person there is no way you could cheat by making them huge.
Though separate arms model would be needed for grenade and spade. Or not needed at all.

Hmm... So, you want separate models for 1st person view and 3rd person view with arms visible?
I see it as follows:
1.make 1st person model small, so it doesn't obstruct your view.
2.make 3rd person model HUGE (as a house :P), so you can locate enemies from afar.
3.rifle
4.----
5.profit

There is one arm model for 3rd person called "Playerarms". So there could be another one for 1st person that you could change.

Oh, thanks greace for explaining me. And Simox, the idea is for guns, since Spades and Nades quite okay in 1st person, erhm?

Now I get it,you mean that in first person(in-game)you will see a hand holding the gun(which you can't modify).
