This would have to be an pyspades option.

Why: Trolls would just get in them and do stupid stuff with the small community we have now. Lets think about this later when this game gets more people.

Agreed. Land vehicles would make no sense unless they had the ability to plow through blocks, which would be pretty overpowered. That being said, the only vehicles that would make sense would be air vehicles.


@plow through blocks, Think of griefers. And I agree about air vehicles. But we need explosives before we even talk about this.

May I introduce you to a vehicle spawning system, that may work :
(got the idea from Tribes Ascend)

-For specific actions such as kills or intel caps or whatever, you get credits.
-Everytime a new match starts your credit count resets.
-With these credits you can buy a vehicle from your tent.
-Better vehicles cost more credits.

When you spawned a vehicle, it should spawn next to you and you would immediately get in it.
(So no one steals it from you) Now you have the option to get out, and leave it at your team's tent
so other players can use it, or simply just use it by yourself.

^That would go under the catagory of killstreaks. The credit system is good in it's own right but it wouldn't fit this game.

Intel capping sounds alot better.
... I was gone for a month and came back to a game that hadn't changed a bit.

You're kind of right in that regard, but these credits arent ment to be like killstreaks...The classic killstreaks are kills performed without dieing between them and thats not really what the credit system is about. It's more like a motivation to play the objective ( more credits for cap then for kills? ) and a prevention from instant jeep rushing or sth. like that.

Anyways, didnt Ben say he was going to add killstreaks to the vanilla game? I thought I heard that somewhere.

Each team gets two transport-choppers and 1 jeep. Jeeps would just jump into higher ground, it wouldn't need to be too realistic. When it hits a ledge that is +2-blocks high, it takes damage and stops. Soldiers would need to exit the vehicle and make a ramp for the jeep to climb, or just find an another route. Falling into water would destroy the jeep, so building bridges would be a must.

Choppers would be, of course, very VERY fragile. Crashing into a block would instantly destroy the chopper, landing too fast would instantly destroy the chopper, and getting hit by about 20 bullets would destroy it, no matter what weapon. When/if we got an AA-weapon, the bullet-resistance would naturally be increased, but not removed. Destroyed vehicles would spawn at the same time as the players (Wave-respawn), and you couldn't drive the vehicles until you got 20 kills, just so griefers couldn't get their hands on them so easily.

My opinion.
Vehicles make most games awesome, but this simply isnt in the spirit of AoS...
Well, only if they are made of voxels, which, upon vehicle being destroyed, are added to the map...
But seeing as the voxel size is not fit for this, this idea has to be scratched...
And vehicles in general wouldnt fit this game. Can you imagine a tank on these terrains we have here?
Well, maybe a helicopter would be only legit vehicle this game could have...

Forget the tanks/jeeps/choppers

Ground vehicles wont look nice. and just dont fit the AOS style.
Choppers are to fast. if you slower them down they look dumb in AOS.

If one vehicle enters AOS it needs to be the zeppelin/airship.

The Zeppelin = all purpose vehicle.It can resupply players whit dropping ammo/medkits. It could drop grenades.

The zeppelin itself is a slow moving vessel in the sky.
To use the vessel you need to capture '' the vessel launch facility. somwhere on the map placed. Because the ship can only be used if your team has the control point. If the control point is taken by the enemy the ship wil we detonated and some equipment will drop around an area where the ship exploded. After the explosion the zeppelin respawns at the ''launch pad'' so the team who captured it can use it.

The ammo/medkit,when dropped can be used agianst your own team.if not drooped right.they can fall in enemy hands.


The zeppelin can be controlled by the team that has the ''launch facility'' in there control. The zeppelin itself is controlled by 2 players. (pilot/equipment launcher). Maby some pessenger seats that can fire there weapons.

And whit a some decent Squad system it would work great. We need the Battlefield 2 squad system whit the commo-rose)

It's a basic Idea. So add ideas.

You do know that there's such a thing as a new topic, right ? But the idea istelf seems pretty good, although i have to disagree with dropping grenades/ammo boxes/medi kits and having weapons on the zeppelin, well maybe one, but it shouldn't be all that accurate or powerful...

this idea would be very OP, and the vehicles would be too bumpy and would probably flip over. And if it blew up, how would you fix it? If you could use blocks to make it, then anyone could make tens of hundreds of stationary turrets or tanks, and the such and totally mess up the game...
I don't totally support the idea right now, until there are some ideas that can help fix these.

How about the boat thingies they used on Omaha Beach except it can be used both on land and water. I think there was a vehicle like that in Battlefield 1942. carries like 4-6 people, 1 driver.

if we did that, although it sounds epic,we would need alot of players for omaha beach,and its my fav map ever,
