Weapon model scaling

Got a great new idea for the game?

Weapon model scaling

Postby AtomicWorm » Sun Aug 19, 2012 9:39 pm

I think it would be a great addition, especially for modders, if we could, through a file external to the model (a .ini comes to mind), select the scale at which a weapon model would be rendered. This would be limited to a minimum of 50% the normal scaling, and a maximum of 100%. This would allow modders to add up to twice as much voxels, and, consequently, twice as much detail, to a model, while still keeping it's size good enough to fit the player model, and allow handgun replacements (pistols, revolvers, etc) to actually work without looking majorly oversized on the player's hands. I also think it would be pretty easy to do and configure through separate .ini files for every weapon. Thanks for reading, and I hope this gets some consideration.

PS: Sorry if this was suggested before, I couldn't find a thread suggesting the same, so I posted.

It would be cool for making more detailed models.

As long as it's out after first release, so that it won't just look like a glob of small squares.
