KillCams and Rewards

Got a great new idea for the game?

KillCams and Rewards

Postby ProjectSeventy » Tue Jul 31, 2012 6:28 pm

On quite a lot of servers I have seen a lot of people thinking KillCams are a great idea, yet I haven't seen any threads for it: thus I have included it here. My other idea, which I know a lot of you will probably hate, is a rewards system. The idea is that when you get a certain amount of kills with a certain weapon, you get an upgrade (like a better scope, or a larger magazine) in your inventory. You can only equip 1 upgrade per weapon at one time, and you can select in your inventory. Thank you for spending time to read this.

Killcams are already in the game to some extent. After you die, you can watch around your surroudings and look for the enemy. Now, if you mean, showing how did the enemy killed you, I don't really like the idea. It could make sniper bunkers useless, because the enemy would know where you are(even if not pinpoint your location, he would have a good idea of where you are).

Also, no to rewards. They make good players even better, and bad players would get kicked in the ass even more. Besides, elitism. People that spend a couple of hours playing the game, not necessarily good players, would go all "SHUT UP NOOB, I HAVE THE ULTIMATE UPGRADE SO IM BETTER, MORE AWESOME AND MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN YOU MIMIMI FAT UGLY MIMIMI".

I have been thinking a little about my previous post, and I have decided that the levelling should be some servers only, allowing new players or more casual players to play with the default weapons if they want. On the subject of KillCams, a sniper should be hit and run anyway since lots of players can see where a bullet comes from and track it back to the sniper, then they can tell their team via team chat. Also about the elitists, they are the kind of people who get votekicked.

Yeah,a good sniper should have a couple of bunkers so he can take targets from multiple angles and generate confusion, but with killcam, once he is discovered, that bunker he is using is basically lost. He will need to replace it, or destroy it.
And I still do not like the levelling idea. Even then, new players will get slaughtered even more, hell, even by people that joined the server a couple of minutes before them.

As for the Killcam, its as if it was BF3, i would rate 7/10 for that.

The upgrades and ur idea of servers that limit the players, for ex. "Hardcore Server - ppl who unlocked 10-15 and over scopes are allowed to go here", "Easy server - no scopes allowed", "Normal server - ppl from 1-5 extensions can play"

Thats what would be awesome, 10/10 for that idea!!!

Rewards. Getting owned by a player better than you is bad enough but adding a reward to the better player that allows for even more pwnage? Rage quits would multiply even more than they are now.

And don't even think about "deathstreaks". CoD MW3 had them and you know what? THEY ARE HORRIBLE. All a deathstreak tells me is that I should consider a different game.

I really dont like the idea of leveling, but it would be cool if there were stats to some extent, but not to the point where it takes the fun out of the game.

A few of you have mentioned this but for those who haven't picked up on this yet, the people who choose to go on an upgrade server would either want a big challenge, or have got upgrades already.
Also for killcams, this doesn't answer your concerns but just think, this makes it a lot easier to find aimbotters.

Well, I was thinking about what a step towards combating botters a killcam would be, but I decided that the cons outweigh the pros. Its usually easy to spot-a-bot anyway. With killcams, campers in hidden places are screwed, players who are far off are screwed, and bunker snipers are screwed. Also, I make a lot of hard to believe jump shots, not to mention the beyond fog range shots. If a random deuce saw that I made a jump kill, or a beyond fog range kill, they would spam the chat with "HAXXXXOR VROOMVROOM HAXXXX. HE MADE A JUMP SHOT= HAXXXXX".

So, no.

I understand what you are getting at, but in my experience, no one pays attention to the duece calling hacks on trick shots, and I have had a few 360 no scopes (some headshots) and the like in my time, since most players know it is possible. I find that you only get non dueces/trolls calling hacks on the person who just joined the game and within minutes have 2 deaths and 50 kills, all being headshots. But still, I do understand your point.
