Reloading Animations

Got a great new idea for the game?

Reloading Animations

Postby FloridaFPS » Tue Mar 20, 2012 7:34 pm

I have been trying to think of a post that hasn't been done and this is the one(I might be disproven unfortunately). Though it would be a lot more work for the modders, I personally believe it would add a better touch to the game instead of just hearing a reloading sound. Please comment below with opinions, but don't harsh.

Don't sweat about it, critisism makes you learn from your mistakes. Now for the actual post, i'm surprised this isn't in the game, although i agree with this, this should be added as a trivial thing and should be added when most of the content updates have been put out.

This could present problems with custom skins, as the magazine is part of the gun model, meaning modders would have to have another application for making animations, and all current mods would have to be redone.

But, reload animations would be nice to have.

I think it could be something really simple: Models would be made without the magazine, with a separate model for the mag. Then when you press R, the magazine on the gun falls to the ground and a new one goes up.

I'm pretty sure modders would have trouble making weapons like the P90 or the M1 Garand, etc.

I don't understand the whole "it breaks mods, don't add it" mentality. You're modding an in-development game, so you should expect updates to break your mods.
That being said, I have no problem with the current reload animations. They're simple, and they get the point across.

Just make the gun look like its shaking, yet not fully visible, that way animations aren't necessary

tunaspirit good point. maybe drop the rifle just a bit so you cant see where the mag would be, but so you can see the end of the gun. then shake.
I don't see why more people don't makes forts. even if not useful, they're a lot of fun

How about Stop Motion Animations? I made a video 1 year ago of Stop Motion reloads using several KV6s.

Pretty cool winston.

Anyways, I agree with this. It should be in the game. And mods are not everything.

Great idea, although if we had mods, there would need to be some way to make modable animations.
