problem is that it might cause lag. Maybe the particles can be lest detailed, or very. It would be config optional.

This might be cool when the OpenGL client is released. I can imagine a freaky war scene with pouring rain, sprinting through the jungle in search of blue scum...I don't know, I'd like to test it before it would be implemented though.

Maybe when raining, walking would me slower in exposed terrain, to simulate mud, and autoclimb would be EXTRA SLOW(because of having to walk up all that mud and shit). Also, maybe while raining, the fog should come closer, or would the obstruction from the rain be enough?

I think just the obstruction of the rain is enough, not that complicated shit.

Anyway, I imagine me and some buddies in my squad, camping all cozy in a den, sniping guys in the rain.
That would be so awesome.

And aside from rain, the snow would make me feel cozy in my den, too. I see a custom map where one team color is white and another is pale green, and that green team has to scope out any snow-camoflauge clad enemies.

In all, weather would add so much immersion to the game, as well as atmosphere, what with the sound and all.

Yes, thought there are things that should be taken care of first, like the SIDEARM we were promised 'bout a year ago... Seriously, there's RPG's and everything, but no pistol. Someone tell me did Ben & Mat forgot about it, or are they not going to add it. My mauser-skin's been dusting in the corner of my hard-drive since the dawn of days.

Adding weather and biomes opens up a whole new possibility; (Hazardous) animals

Imagine camping in the rain with 10 hp, and then a delicious wild boar appears before you. You go John Rambo on that porky bastard, but a massive crocodile crawls out of the water and attacks you, and while wrestling that pair of boots, a giant snake eats your boar. How bad-ass would that be? Different biomes also allow recreating more historical battles, like the winter war for an example.
