Dropping the intel

Got a great new idea for the game?

Dropping the intel

Personally it might be quite useful to be able to drop the briefcase 1 block infront of you by means of a keyboard button - perhaps 'f' or 'g'.
Could drop it into a tunnel or something then fend off the attackers from above.
It'd just make it more tactical and allow for more complex play.

The 'x has got y's intel' should be displayed somewhere other than the chat anyway really.

There should also be scripts that allow admins to force someone to drop the intel, return an intel to its spawn, or move the intel elsewhere. This would prevent a form of griefing in which someone on your team moves the enemy intel to a place where no one could possibly get it or a place that would take a tremendous amount of effort to reach. It would also prevent a form of griefing in which someone on your team refuses to capture the intel.

Wait, so instead of walking over the intel to capture it you would drop it instead? Or is this about being able to move your intel around? Both ideas sound good.

I would like this, there's been numerous times in 1CTF where I've accidently picked up intel when I wanted to go beyond it.

I believe it's that you could remove the enemy intel from yourself when you're carrying it.

This would be a good feature.
You could give the intel to your love or you could drop it down to prevent enemy from seeing you in the radar.

I agree, when an admin decides to move the Intel he should add the coordinates of the map and it will appear in the middle of the map for moving it can be easier. :)

Very good idea and I have wondered why this was not present since start. Not everyone wishes to capture the intel, you ocassionally pick up intel by accident when trying to tunnel under it to destroy enemys defences around intel and other situations like it.

Also the intel needs to be fixed so you cannot pick it up simple by going near to a wall it is behind... Whole point of boxing it in is so enemy has to take time to dig it out, not just run upto wall and be all "ohh I can teleport chit from behind a wall now lol".

I would like to be able to drop intel, good idea.
Other ctf type games allow this for situations where you want to pass the intel to a "flag runner"
or if you didn't intend to pick up the flag
or if you want to bring it somewhere else (other than the cap point)...
etc...

I do realize that it is exploitable/griefable, but then you just votekick the fool(s) and you're golden! ;)

Even though this is probably a very old thread, I still agree with it.
