HALF BLOCKS!

Got a great new idea for the game?

HALF BLOCKS!

Half blocks, wouln't that be awesome!
There would be a whole new aspect of camoflage for snipers, smg users could retreat behind 1.5 blocks! How cool is that that!

What do you think
People call me a pro. But they're wrong, killing isn't a profession, it's a passion.

I highly doubt that the current engine supports half blocks, though you may have some luck once we move to OpenGL. Although, I personally think that when put into practice half-blocks would just be a pain. I'll try and explain:

Half-blocks and destruction will be a very strange business, if you were to make all blocks break into halves taking out a pillar would require half the damage because only half a block needs to be destroyed to cause a collapse.

Half-blocks would also require a new key to choose between the two, unnecessarily complicating building. Not to mention your block count going into decimals.

Having different types of blocks sounds more troublesome than useful. KISS, etc.

I think that half-blocks should only be used for a visual look out *from your base*, as in they absorb damage from nades and bullets as if they were a full block, but clip with players as if they were a half block.

your suggestion isn't needed. we have something to make up for half blocks, and that is the normal block.
let me show you a list of minecraft block height compared to ace of spades block height
unreachable blocks: 2 blocks MC = 3 blocks AOS
jumpable blocks: 1 block MC = 2 blocks (at speed) AOS
walkable blocks: 1/2 blocks MC = 1 block AOS
as you can see, we basically already have half blocks. adding actual half blocks would just add extra download time and may cause bugs.

try playing AOS some more and find the things you get doubly annoyed about.
