I would have to disagree, autoclimb means it is simply too easy to accidentally reveal your head. I would rather build a two wide, three deep trench, with firing positions branching off in the direction of the enemy.

Going to have to agree with Squeal on this one; Autoclimb makes it dicey to only have the trench 1 block wide, but yeah, that is a pretty standard design, thanks Sledder.
