Rifle Bayonette

Got a great new idea for the game?

Rifle Bayonette

Postby Defaulter » Fri Jan 27, 2012 12:22 pm

For a WEAKER melee attack.

Easier then switching to the spade, you cant just click (middle mouse button??) and perform a weaker melee attack.

Possible use: Guy runs at you with spade *shot once then stab*, why not shoot him in the head? well it isnt always possible you might hit his torso, *aw crap he's still coming, no time for another shot, stab*

Also if you die stabbing a guy who breaks through your frontline, your buddies are more likely to kill him alot quicker now he's wounded. Also when getting the intel, if you have the rifle it coul be helpful in that split second situation, when you dont have time to break out ye-olde soade.

Thoughts?

Nah
Would have to replace rifles model and you can already switch to spade.

Really takes the spades out of "Ace of Spades" I feel like if this is implementedpeople will replace the ability to stab with the ability to beat people to the death with the spade, because its more "convinient".
AoS is NOT Minecraft with guns !!!

Wow like we need that really bad idea

1. player heads are pretty huge so u ill not miss 2. The semi fires 2-3 shots in a second so you will have enough time for shooting. 3. Get your spade out?

Wow what is with the poor grammar?
Ok how much i see you wrote about damaged/enemy's so shoot him ? rifle? spade ? Hell we don't want a knife that cant kill a full hp enemy that is idiotic. No weapon in aos(or any other game) is made for "Use in case a Enemy is hurt".

SnaJperME, no one appreciates your degrading criticisms. You are also in no position to be railing someone for a crappy idea (which really isn't all that crappy) considering the train wreck that was the "Remove Headshots" thread.

Anyway, DE, this idea seems kind of pointless considering I feel the Spade would be more useful in these situations anyway.

Lol'd when SnaJperME criticized DE on his grammar.

Well, taking out spade takes 2/1 seconds. Better add sidearms.

Yeh, sidearms could actually be a better alternative to a bayonette style one.

@epicdude

I was just thinking out-loud with this thread, my line of thought was it'd be quicker to stab with the rifle then switch to spade, then attack with spade.

Furthermore the bayonette was going to be a weaker attack then the spade.

Clearly my idea needs much refinement, but that's why i mad this thread :p feedbackkk xD

Bayonettes would be cool. They don't have to replace the spade, just add another way to melee.

@SnaJperME
Jesus, why do you need to react so aggressively to everything?
Can't you act calm and make posts like :

I don't like this idea because:
*insert arguments here*

That's why most people dislike you.

Back to topic:
A bayonette could deal half the damage of the spade, and having a slower RoF than the spade.
It could cut through 1 block at a time and it won't add anything to your blocks cache.
Also make it only available for Semi-Rifle, because its not necessary for the shotgun and SMG.

I cant think of any situations where itd be more beneficial to use a weak melee than a bullet, its not like the rifle has a slow RoF.

I like the idea, fixing bayonets would add more to the trench warfare idea that some maps.
