!Help Starting Server!

Hey I need help, and I'm going to tell you what I did step by step, and hopefully, players with experience from starting servers will notice any blunders, or direct me what to do next.

1. Opened server.exe
2. Typed gen
3. Typed 32 (for how many players)
4. "Could not retrieve IP address."
5. Opened cmd
6. Typed ipconfig
7. Got lots of weird numbers, but managed to salvage what I think was my IP address, it was written like this:
"IPv4 Address..... 192.168.0.12"
8. Entered 192.168.0.12 into the address bar in Internet Explorer.
9. "The webpage cannot be found"
10. Went back to cmd, look two spaces below IPv4 Address down to
"Default Gateway..... 192.168.0.1"
11. Entered 192.168.0.1 into address bar, Internet Explorer.
12. Directed to this site: http://192.168.0.1/cgi-bin/webcm?getpag ... index.html


Please help me, I'm afraid this is a virus-type deal, thank you.

To find out your IP address you can just google it.

To start a server, though, you can read THIS helpful guide by PXYC.

Okay, any idea on what to google? I can't just google "What is my ip address?", can I?

Yes, it'll either show your IP or you'll have to click on a website that'll tell you what it is.

You open the webpage and find the page which says "port forwarding". Open the ports to 32887 on both ports.

Hes right. Your IP looks like a standart router IP in a local network. You need to forward your router. Just google it. Some routers cant be forwarded like my one :-(
