When you are holding shift (sprint key), and you copy a blocks color (e), the block you were pointing at will have a block placing silhouette (the white block outline). I believe that only your team can see this so you can use this as a make shift marker system.

Hope this doesn't get fixed till we get official waypoint markers

Unless I'm doing something wrong, the marker only stays up for as long as you're holding the sprint key.
