[POLL] The Elephant Gun

Hiya, I know that this has never been suggested before so, The Elephant Gun.
During the early days of WW1 when tanks started to be used for the first time, average rifles could not penetrate these armours, the one thing they did have in the 1910's, was a gun so powerful it took down Elephants

How it could be adapted to gameplay is it would be the anti block gun penetrating upto 5 blocks in one shot and achieving insta-kills on anypart of the body (exception being the limbs). To balance this monster out, it is a double barrel rifle requiring constant reloads.

How do we all think about this?

I posted about this gun bit ...
First we need a Heavy Machine Gun then a Mortar and at end the elephant gun ...

Meh, not really necessary unless vehicles are implemented. We already have a long-range weapon capable of one-shotting.

^ Not in next version , we will get it when open-GL is realised that will be in 1.00v and next version is going to be 0.80v :P So will will wait pretty long for it. Anyway this gun would be very good as a Only Deploy to shot weapon.
Anyway like i sad would for rather see a HMG and a Mortar about Ben wass talking long ago...

WHY?

I mean, WHY would we need an elephant gun? 5-deep Block penetration? Ultimate griefer's gun. And insta-kill on any part of the body except limbs? Seriously? As it is, this is the one game where it is easier to make an insta-kill headshot than a body shot, so to make those body shots insta-kill as well is just beginning for trouble.

My verdict: NO.

I do see your point, we could nerf down te suggested penetration (5 blocks is a little too much isnt it?)
However, ive never said what the rate of fire would be in my head i said very slow.
The elephant gun also gives a new strategy for planning structures, to prevent men inside from dying,

instant kill 5 block deep penetration, only real downside is reloading....

Can we also add the farsight next? It totally wont be overpowered.

How about that it doesn't have an ironsights and everytime you shoot the gun you would be pushed back by 20 blocks.

it should take 5 seconds to reload the next shot, and then you have to mount it on blocks (that is both realistic and balancing) that have to be a 3x3 platform. it should be able to shoot at a 20 degree angle at the least, and 75 at the most. when it is not mounted you should walk at 3/4 the speed of a normal player and not be able to run or shoot.

The elephant gun was extremely powerful, and if you want to get realistic... 2 people need to carry and shooting while holding it results in severe injury to both carriers. that is why i think that this is a good balance.

+1 from me, Elephant Gun would be fun

But 5 block penetration is far too high (and useless, most players rely on 1-block protection, rarely 2), losing around one third of damage per block would be well balanced :
-direct impact : head 100 torso 100 limbs 50
-1 block penetration : head 100 torso 65 limbs 35
-2 blocks penetration : head 80 torso 35 limbs 20
That's enough to make deadly headshots after 1 block and still make significant damage after 2

Also, make players able to shoot only if immobile (elephant guns are more than 50 pounds), with awful accuracy if standing. Making only immobile crouched fire effective, to prevent run and gun which would overpower this gun

you really have to mount elephant guns because if you hold one and shoot it, you have low chances of survival.
