Official Clans

The pressing matter of clan impersonations, or simply more than one clan with the same name, has lead to a lot of confusion within the community. I suggest we implement an official clan system in-game, so you can only have, for example, Komrade in your name if you are actually in the Komrade clan.

Another way to say this would be to separate clan tags from gamertags, like in *gasp* cowadoody.

Yeah, maybe it can also set up clan match servers and you have to be a member of the clan to be in the server. Or nonmembers become spectators.

The only issue I have with dedicated clan tags is the same one I have on Xbox. Although I can put [USAB] as a clan tag it makes my name terribly redundant. I mean [USAB]USABxSLAYER isn't very elegant.

^Yeah, that's what I hope for. Maybe it could be managed from the UCP like how Clan Leaders can change stuff. Also, like Slayer said, his name, and others with names that specify their clan, would be rather weird looking. A tad redundant.

Naming should not be restricted. It would be unfair if someone had the letters "CE" or "EF" in their names.

Right, I forgot about clan tags also being coincidental letters that come together. I'd prefer the separate tag idea, then.
