Absolute #1 Priority

Got a great new idea for the game?

Absolute #1 Priority

Postby FaZe » Tue May 08, 2012 3:05 am

I know this is probably on the DNSL, but I just thought it should be known how crucial first-person spectating is to this game's survival. It would be very clear if someone's legit or not. Simple as that. Aimbots and speedhackers: gone. Griefers: gone. All illegit players would be permabanned right away, until everyone else would be too scared to try it.

But, even more importantly, so I can see people's reactions when they watch me actually destroy them, and so I can go "I told you so" to whoever got me global banned from January to March.

Considering the polling rate and the network lag, this would not be particularly helpful. Fun yes, helpful questionable...

Ah yes, I forgot about connection issues. Honestly, if we had this and everyone had the same relative connection, albeit a worse absolute connection, I'd be satisfied.

I'm in for anything that could help stop aimbots.
To a Physicist, white and black is the presence and absence of color.
To a Fine Artist, white and black are just shades and tints of color.
To a Painter, any paint that you could get into a can is a color.
THIS color, on the other hand, is #b4d455.

Not really, it would still rely on people accually going into spectating mode too see and then it would still have to get past a votekick (unless the person in question is an admin, but theyre not on all the time), whitch as you probably know, almost never happens

But I guess that more people would vote if the reason was something like "I saw him twitching in first-person spectator mode." And on top of that, there would still be false aimbot accusations from people who don't even bother investigating. Definitely better than nothing, at least ;)

+1

I also think this is crucial for detecting cheaters. How about lifting the /kickvote amount for spectators, watching the same player (the potential cheater) over 3-5mins in first person mode. Thus it would only take 1-2 other players agreeing, instead of 5 or so.
