The SMG and Rifle are perfectly balanced, but the shotguns appears far weaker. So I have an idea of how to make it more efficient, without giving it too much power : being able to shoot with the shotgun when sprinting.
That would allow "run and gun" tactics to give shotguns use the ability to move faster (using the sprint) while keeping the ability to defend themselves, while SMG and Rifle are defenseless with sprinting. So, shotgun users could take the advantage in close-combat, letting less reaction time to enemies.
+ More players will take shotgun instead of less than 10% currently. It will also force other weapons to be more careful in close-combat as a skilled shotgunner will use the advantage of speed to take them down, one by one. A single player will be able to deal with less situations alone, increasing teamplay with a mix of classes. This does not increase the shotgun's firepower, no risk to be back to the shotgun as it was months ago (one shot at 100m).
- Maybe it will not change anything for most players and only a few players will use this "shotgun charge", as an high infiltration skill is required to come close enough from enemies with high chances of success.
