Should their be a Pistol in the game?

I was wondering if there should be a new weapon in the game which is a Pistol. this could be used for close compact. This could be good if you are using a rifle and you find your self in close combat situations. Also if your out of ammo or dont have the time to reload.
Please comment on your views on this suggestion

I'm pretty sure that the admins brought this up a while ago, and it was considered. It might appear in the next update, so we all better hope for it. And if it does appear in the next update, I wouldn't be surprised if it appeared as a secondary weapon.

The rifle is not better than the shotgun in close quarters. The shotgun deals a lot more damage in close range compared to the rifle, which if it's not a headshot, it's at most 45 damage.
