To server toggling autoclimb idea: No. Hell no. AoS is a fast paced game. I'm sure many players out there would quit AoS entirely if their favourite server switched autoclimbing off. You could ruin a great, well known server in an instant by toggling off autoclimb.
To individuals toggling their autoclimb: Hmm... Nice idea. I don't see the point though, considering your thumb will cry for mercy once you start hopping over a hill.
Consider this: Suppose you have 10 people. 7 of them have ...cat allergy. You hand out each person a cat, cause it's a good idea. 7 of them say: but I have allergy! You say 'NO! It's a good idea that everyone gets a cat! So just deal with it.' And so, 7 out of 10 people have their lives ruined because they were forced to live with a cat.
In a similar way, by letting whole servers switch autoclimb on and off, you will ruin the experience for many players while satisfying few. Why few? Because as I said, AoS is a fast paced game. Moving, combat, they're all very dynamic. You can't have a decent combat if you're stuck on one block level, in a fort, on a hill, in a cave, on a tree, or whatever. No, it's not a bad thing that players just run around. That's the whole point: agility, skill. If you're not careful you're just gonna run into the enemy base in a few seconds. The speed is there for a good reason. It's bad enough that sprinting has no autoclimb.
But anyway, if the individual wants it off, it's his choice. Leave it up to the individual.
It's a nice idea though. I hope Ben hears about this!
