Well, Here's my Idea. It will catch some of the fakes who try's to be your friends or you. Or even try's to steal your clan tag.

In-game connected to your forums account.

Well, This has been suggested before. But It goes with my Idea.

Having your clan leaders change your name to the tag

This would stop people stealing other clans name and try's to be them and make the clan looks bad.

Yes! One time my clan server had changed passwords. Then someone came in there and tried to be me and he got the password to the server and he ruined it.

Already is on certified servers via /sitelogin which connects your score to the leaderboard, however this could use some developing, but at the current stage, I wouldn't say it is a priority.

No. Just no.

One of the reasons I've always loved Ace of Spades, is because it breaks the trend of ethics between games, one of them being that a lot of multiplayer games have this 'ZOMG COPYRIGHT NAME' feature, where one player cannot have the same name as another player, and it ends up <name>329453939593591 in the end. We are not some RPG game or something, just a simple FPS game, and I think for Ace of Spades to start becoming stricter and to move away from more of its lax attitude, this game will just become annoying / frustrating. It works fine how it is, because on the forums everyone must have seperate names, so even when connected to your forum account on certified servers, for the leaderboard, your forum username comes up, which is unique.

Yes, people copy each others name, but why not? It is only a name, there is no copy right issues with it, let it be as flexible as possible, for less frustration, It is only an issue when they abuse the name, such as impersonate an admin and issuing false information or representing themselves as developers/administration, and their core purpose is just to use the name for misuse. About clan tags, you act as if the tag makes the team. No it doesn't. Even if someone tries to fake your tag, it will probably just mean he/she want to reach your clan status and is a 'fan', just shrug it off, because at the end of the day, they will not play in your clan matches, and you will not count them in your clan, and eventually they will get bored and remove it because people do frown upon fakes, and some admins even take action, so there is just no point in restricting the game which already operates smoothly upon such factors which just require matureness in such small issues.

Oh and your server password is your problem, get a better password, or even better yet reliable members who do not leak it, as that is always a possibility.

Vortex....Just wow...I don't know what kind of games you play to come to that conclusion. Alright, you do know what kind of chaos there would be without an account system, right ? I know that this system is not a priority, but every game that operates online must have an account system. sooner or later.
