Idea to balance the shotgun : run & gun

Got a great new idea for the game?

Would you like the ability to "Run and Gun" for shotgun users ?

This, combined with less random shot spread and ill take it!

p.s., SMG is NOT balanced, it needs headshot damage reduced to 50 again.

Shotgun is fine, people just fail at using it. Don't blame the weapon because players can't use cover for shit.

What server do you frequent? I'll roll you with the SMG or Rifle if you use Shotgun. It's not about cover: The shotgun is an extremely close range weapon with piss-poor reliability in its spread: Sometimes it won't even kill at point blank.

This is topped off by a recoil more extensive than the rifle's, and a slower firing speed to boot.

Except in very small maps like Minifun, the shotgun is almost never used.

lol ok, come show me your MLG skillz, I chill in the LDR servers.

The shotgun will kill from even range 15, and you never have to wait for reload so long as you hit R after every shot. If you rush enemy cover and keep up the jump/duck dodging you can easily wipe out an entire side.

I always laughed in GH when you walk straight down the middle of assault and jump the wall and wipe out all the defenders. Shotgun kills 1 hit if you can aim, but SMG still needs two, and semi needs more precise aiming. Just duck and run and you are fine.

People used to say SMG was underpowered until they learnt you can just destroy the enemies cover and enjoy the free kills. Once people figure out shotgun is good if you are half-decent at using cover I bet we will here "omg these overpowered shotgun users just hide behind cover till they are 10 blocks away then pwn you!!! WTF SO BS NERF SHOTGUN".

It's only a matter of time.

I do occasionally get headshots at people ducking in water with a shotgun. If I'm lucky I get about 5 headshots against a rifle while I have a shotgun in 1 round while in the water. Run & Gun would be annoying because: Too many people running around with a shotgun and spawn killing while sprinting. ughg. That'd be confusing.

I would rather have it that the spread on the shotgun be tighter.

SMGs are usually lighter than a shotgun, I don't see the logic in doing this.
To a Physicist, white and black is the presence and absence of color.
To a Fine Artist, white and black are just shades and tints of color.
To a Painter, any paint that you could get into a can is a color.
THIS color, on the other hand, is #b4d455.

Aos got no logic , The Rifle is a Run & Gun weapon and SMG is a Crouch to shoot weapon. So next a Chaingun with 100% accuracy YaY!!!

But then why are they named SMG when they are "assault rifles"?

I never said SMG was underpowered, merely that the earlier Rifle was overpowered because it was too versatile and had less recoil than the shotgun (ffs).

It's just that you're claiming to get a lot of legit kills with the shotgun, but I can count my shotgun deaths on two hands.

I recognize the SMG's block destroying ability as well.

Also, the close range of the shotgun forces a 'corner camping' mentality where you wait for some Deuce to come around a corner before you have an advantage, whereas with the rifle and SMG, you can do the EXACT SAME THING but BETTER (especially given the size of our heads).
