Got a great new idea for the game?

Money in AOS?

What about a money shop in AOS each kill is 10 dollars, intel 100 dollars, etc. You can use it for healthpacks AKA (medkits) Guns, maybe even buy more space for blocks meaning say you have 50 blocks 100 dollars would be a space for 1 block letting you have 51 blocks and so on. Anyone else think this would be a good idea?

I was thinking of that the other day -- they could add a game mode where you mine blocks and kill people to get money. Whenever someone kills somebody or mines a block, the entire team gets money, and weapons cost different amounts of money. In this game mode, the cheapest weapon would be the shotgun, the more expensive weapon would be the rifle, and the most expensive would be the SMG, but the prices wouldn't be too different, only by small amounts because the weapons are almost even.

So, the shotgun would cost 10, the rifle would cost 25, and the smg would cost 50. If there is no money, you only get a spade. Grenades aren't factored into this system, but you will always start with 3 and you can buy more at the shop (max 3.)

Each block mined would give 1 point, and each person killed would give 100 points.

Things like health and ammo would be buyable with points too, and air strikes would be buyable as well. And capturing the intel would earn the whole team 10,000 points. :)

This "shop" would be a GUI that would open if you pressed G.

I dont think elfizbanio gets it.. It would still be free.. Just ingame money or it maybe will be called credits..

Money is useful only if there is content to unlock.

And content to unlock is unfair : more experienced players, who already beat Deuces with equal weapons, would completely slaughter them with upgrades.

Moreover, one good thing in games where nothing is to unlock, is that players play for fun and not for score. I don't want AOS to become like COD where players play for xp and not for fun :-(

Eh, a little iffy on this. Obviously, as said above, vets slaughter everyone already usually. We already have the ability to shoot people with the rifle. Now, if it wasn't upgrades, and just refills and such, that would probably be better. Or of course, you could do it CS style with everyone starting with a pistol, and buying more guns. However, this means making more guns with the models and the coding.

From a coding and modeling point of view that isn't a problem at all.


I'm half minded about adding more guns. it is easier to balance and more fun to have fewer distinctive guns. Especially such generic guns that give a lot of choice to modders.
