Ace Of Spades, Single Player.

Got a great new idea for the game?

Ace Of Spades, Single Player.

I know this won't ever happen, and it's a bad idea. I just have a crazy mind, and I thought of this:

Single Player Mode:
Do certain missions/tasks, and unlock new guns to use in Multiplayer!

darkar wrote:Well i think a single player suggestion, more weapons ONLY for singleplayer, that singleplayer consist in different missions, ej: retrieve the intel, capture a place,etc... And there in some place has a gunshop to buy weapons, grenades and ammo whit money winned in missions, but that weapons was ONLY for singleplayer, a swarm mode, that gives you a minute to create your base to defend from bot soldiers, that if they get the intel or you die lose the game (the bots can destroy walls if no way to get intel) and a easy map builder mode, to make own maps to use on singleplayer or on multiplayer server.
Being aggressive makes you a winner!

Sorry, I had to. But seriously, this is unlikely and totally useless.

The only thing I would like that may be loosely related to singleplayer is some kind of official story as to why green and blue are fighting.

This would be extremely stupid, imo. First of all, I'm extremely against earning weapons, perks, attachments, etc. because it makes the good players better but it makes the bad players worse. Access to all weapons puts the game on a more level playing field. Also making a singleplayer would take a HUGE amount of time to do, and I'd rather see some improvements such as lag instead of new gamemodes. Like you said though, I'm pretty sure it will never happen ;)

I hate unlocks.

Why should new players be penalized just for being new? Surely the experience of experienced players is enough of an advantage.

It's a valid dream, sure, but it's also impossible. How do you get bots to navigate the complicated, dynamic terrain? The closest you could get is turrets dotting the landscape, or maybe premade bunkers with bots standing inside. The only way you could guarantee bots working well is on premade and bot path made maps, which goes against the map generation AOS was built on.

And forget gun unlocks. Unlocks and perks do nothing but polarise the user base.

this has already been suggested many times :/

Well for one thing i do not hate unlocks as long as they are done right. Cod does not not preform unlocks right. I have been playing a game called Gotham City Imposters though, in which there are unlocks, and you can unlock any gun when you get one. There fore the guns are made equal. Still that aside, single player is a BAD idea. No offense, but unlocking and leveling is not what AoS is about, even if it's done right. Plus, what story would there be. One day a blue killed a green. Then a green killed a blue. War. The end. Again these are my personal opinions.

Now this happened ? Ow my god.
DISAGREE!
'On Jan 24th', Congress will vote to pass internet censorship in the Senate, even though the vast majority of Americans are opposed. We need to kill the bill - PIPA and SOPA - to protect our rights to free speech, privacy, and prosperity.

Someone created a script for it awhile back. They shot at you, moved around and whatnot.

Was pretty simple though, nothing like building fortresses or crouching to evade fire.

Dear sir, ONONONONONOEZ!!!
Unlocks are real game-spoilers. They would obliterate this game!

And, as much as i would like a skirmish mode against bots, coding them would, sadly, be impossible.
Seriously, dynamic path nodes on voxel based engine in which they update in such a way, that bots DONT GET STUCK IN GODDAMN WALLS, and are capable of doing actions, THAT MAKE SENSE.

Well, if you wish to devote 2-5 years on developing such a system, then go ahead,
but if you wouldn't mind coming back to earth, we don't have a dev team of 50+ people and all priorities sorted out, this game hasn't even hit version 1.0 for crying out loud!!!

Bots in this game would be as difficult as the other one, Tremulous,
you know, the game where 1 team plays humans with conventional fps logics and the other plays aliens, which can walk on walls. Too much data for a simple, yet fast navigation system for bots...

Also: shutting up because i have caused some annoyances lately.

Story mode?

Yeah Like BOOYO said. If they added this they should have story mode why green and blue are having war?But no unlocks. Completely pointless to New players.

*cough* just to say. Single player isn't a bad idea. Just because CoD has bots and Counterstrike has bots and every other FPS doesn't mean it can't be implemented. There is already something that has a pathing system for bots. Not up for download or anything but. This could be possible.

I think some people here underestimate the power of programming. I'm sure bots could be made to at least navigate towards the intel.

Already has, there has been someone working on a bot script, he got them to navigate towards the intel. Forgot who it was, but I think it is in AoS talk.
