Maybe AoS could make a new Assault rifle class? All stats would be similar to the current SMG, but with less ammo (20 loaded and 80 reserve) and a lower firerate. We could also add a fixed/changeable burst function for the AR. The newer stats of the SMG could be adjusted with a higher spread but lower recoil and damage.
The AR could be used in long and mid-ranged combat while the SMG is only fit for close range combat. My only fear is that the AR may become a redundant weapon.
