Unfortunately not, mortars will actually decrease the use of trenches and structures because of their vulnerability to mortars if they were added. As for the setting, I myself would much prefer it to be WW1-WW2, it fits the AoS game-play much better.

I voted Bazooka, Mortar, and Heavy Machine gun. a sniper rifle/assault rifle could be cool too though, but the other guns would probably have to get their range nerfed a little bit for there to be any use of those, otherwise it would just be different fire rates pretty much.

Men you dont get it WW1 - WW2 had 90% of this weapons
And about mortars. They fall from up so make shelter or dig a bit it will be realisticaly that a bunker got a roof then like it is now only a Wall

Well actually in ww2 they had composion C was the pre C4 version.Remeber the saving privates ryan scene,whit sticky bombs.

Mortard would be great,buidling a nice foxhole setting that thing up and building base around it,would love that,same whit Heavy machinegun)will bring back that slow gameplay) that all members liked.

I miss the old AOS

with it being rumored that they are working on vehicals (OMG A SPELLING ERROR) is some way, i think that a mortar would be very interesting. Its damage on blocks though should be more random than the grenade so that it isnt just long range explosives. so it will still have the ability to destroy the same amount of blocks, just not always the ones you want it to destroy, or the same amount.

Exactly! I loved the old AoS, it feels too "run and gun" at the moment, adding HMG's and mortars as semi-static defenses we can bring back the old glory that AoS once had, I hate running and gunning, it's far less fun.

as for mortars, theses must NOT I repeat must NOT reach across the entire map. At best I would love for mortars to be moveable (Has anyone played company of heroes? mortars were very balanced in that game) and have a limited range, that way you have risk involved, trading safety for a better firing location.

By adding HMG's and Mortars we can bring back the old semi-static feel it used to have. It can bring back the idea of established positions, as opposed to walk across the map and shoot the other guys, there is a strategical feel to it.

That Mortar Pit screwing over your advances? dig under it!

Deployable weapons would then make new objectives for your team to accomplish, so that when you spawned you would actually think about your purpose for this team.

I really REALLY do not want mortars to just be /airstrike weapons, thats not fun either.

Exactly what i was thinking i miss the old aos with the static positions what was so realistic now i just run from one end to the other and make head-shoots running with the semi.

Yep i stopped playing aos just cause of that up ->spawn walk shoot die -> and so 100xtimes it just inst fun its nothing more and nothing less as idiotic.
I really don't get it how Ben or anyone doesn't see that aos got no future if it continue this way of run and gun like its Team fortress2.

In my opinion aos needs fixes on the :
-Balance- if weapons ( i mean Semi ) gets movement aim downgrade then the run and make head-shoots will stop and people will stop and aim what will help that you don't get head-shoted if you are in a trench and a noob runs onto you and head-shoot you at full run speed.
-Movement- The autoclimb made the hills and abuses totaly useless now its just like a big flat map for walking no speed penalty
-Weapons- This is a thing that aos will hopefuly fit in with "tactical weapons" like the HMG Mortar C4 and so on to force a bit of emplacement and tactic fun.
