i have had a great idea for AoS for a long time, i then found out about the forums.
i have read the rules and i know that new weapons have already been suggested so im here to add more detail too it.
a refined class system would work well with this game. the classes i have imagined are similar to the ones in TF2.
picking a class will be similar to picking a different weapon. instead of dying when you choose it, you will be that class the next time you respawn. for these classes to work the game will need different "item types".
Primary - Main weapon
Secondary - Sidearm
Special 1 - Grenades/bombs/deployable turret/land mines ect
Special 2 - Grenades/bombs/deployable turret/land mines ect
Spade - Pickaxe/Drill/Spade ect
Building blocks - each class can place blocks but can hold different amounts
here are the Class ideas i had.
Infantry - basic soldier class
Primary - SMG - Same SMG currently in the game
Secondary - Pistol - weak gun that can shoot up to 10 times before it reloads. low range.
Special 1 - 5 basic frag grenades
Special 2 - 2 flash bang grenades that daze the enemy and create a short flash on the enemies screen caught in the blast.
Spade - Basic Spade
50 block limit
Medic - healer
Primary - Pistol - weak gun that can shoot up to 10 times before it reloads. low range.
Secondary - Bandages - Melee ranged healing weapon. deals low damage to enemies.
Special 1 - 1 Medical Box - A depoyable box that heals allies for 5 health per second in a 7 block radius.
Special 2 - 1 Pain Killer - Use on yourself or an ally. target receives 25% less damage for 1 minute.
Spade- Basic spade
50 block limit
Bomber - Bomber
Primary - Shotgun - Same shotgun currently ingame
Secondary - RPG - a gun that shoots a grenade. deals high damage in a 5 block radius. 2 shots.
Special 1 - 1 C4 Bomb - A bomb that can be planted on a block then detonated by clicking again. deals heavy damage and destroys blocks.
Special 2 - 3 Land Mines - Pressure sensitive bombs that detonate when an enemy comes within a 3 block radius. deals medium damage and destroys blocks.
Spade - Drill (faster and quieter then a spade but yields only 25% block return)
60 block limit
Assassin - Sniper
Primary - Sniper - 1 shot kill bullets, slow reload time, long distance scope, no reticle unless in scoped mode.
Secondary - Pistol - weak gun that can shoot up to 10 times before it reloads. low range.
Special 1 - 3 Smoke Screen grenades - creates a cloud of smoke that cannot be seen through.
Special 2 - 1 Deployable Dummy - Creates a dummy unit which looks like a player.
Spade - Spade
50 block limit
Spec. Op. - Special operative
Primary - Rifle - Same rifle currently ingame
Secondary - Silent Pistol - Weak gun that can shoot up to 10 times before it reloads but with very little to no noise.
Special 1 - Cloaking Device - when used, the Spec. Op. will become invisible for 30 seconds. sprinting, shooting, and capturing the Intel (or similar objectives) will uncloak.
Special 2 - Tracking Device - When used, enemies will be revealed on the minimap within a 35 block radius.
Spade - Silent Drill - Slightly slower then the spade but makes no noise.
50 block limit
Engineer - Defensive class
Primary - Pistol - Weak gun that can shoot up to 10 times before it reloads. low range.
Secondary - Remote Control - takes control of a targeted turret you built.
Special 1 - 1 Deployable turret - Creates an auto turret that fires at the enemy. you may also control it directly with the remove control.
Special 2 - 3 Wall Reinforcer - Creates a block that severely reduces damage to blocks in a 3x3 radius.
Spade - Drill (faster and quieter then a spade but yields only 25% block return)
75 block limit
Gunner - Heavy Defensive infantry
Primary - Heavy Machine Gun - A powerful machine gun that needs to be set up before used. you may retrieve and move the gun after it has been set up.
Secondary - Shotgun - Same shotgun currently ingame

im sure there are many more classes we can think of. just adding guns wont work in the future because of sever balance issues. for balance, classes that rely on teamwork must be used.
