I have 3 simple suggestions for the minimap

1) Update in real time: Pretty much the only way to update the minimap atm is to open the map. Until that moment you could be running off a hour old minimap, simply make it update every 5-10 seconds so it keeps up to date without immediately showing any minute changes the enemy couldve made and itll be perfect.

2) Pretty up the coords (.76): Atm its just this ugly, hard to read black number right above the minimap. What i propose would kinda fit the theme of the game is a slot machine esque letter/number system (wow that sounded pretty bad). Itd be kinda like the hp/pp system from earthbound, meant to be kinda like an army instrument or something.

It doesnt have to animate or anything, itd simply be a themed white box thatll contrast with the letters/numbers making it easier to read and more appealing than a simple white box or something.

3) Display how much time is left till the next spawn wave: Simple enough, useful if you want to switch weapons without waiting ~30 seconds and will also allow you to strategically kill the enemy to cause them to wait rather than immediately spawning. Could be displayed as a stop watch or something.

I know I know, not really well thought out and lacks all the pretty pictures you all want. But still, these are all fairly reasonable and I feel I'm not the only one whod want this.

1. Agreed. The only problem is people with bad computers. There should be an options menu with a configuration to set the update rate.

2. Totally agreed. Contrast is always nice on a colored screen. Earthbound is too.

3. I think that there should be a sound warning 5 seconds before the next respawn wave. That way you won't need to always be looking at a stopwatch.

The problem with a sound warning is we have to take into consideration the servers with a shorter spawn time. As much as I dislike insta spawn servers, they do exist and they shouldnt have to be plagued by the constant warning beeps.

Yeah, the minimap doesn't really like updating itself, does it? I thought it was a bug or something when I first started playing. Honestly don't see why it doesn't update real-time.

That's a good point. Maybe a rollback will mess up the minimap a bit, so maybe an update rate of a couple of seconds would be better than real-time.

I enjoy the map coordinates on learn_more's modloader.

The contrasting colours make it very easy to read. I'll support anything that makes the coordinates easier to read and more appealing to the eye.

Wow, that's an interesting idea.. it's not very necessary but it'd be nice to have.

My origonal suggestion actually suggested 5-10 second intervals, not for that particular reason but hell, its an additional reason of why it should work like that.

That acutally works pretty well as well, I really dont care how it happens I mostly want it done.
