[Poll] Bring Back the .70 Rifle?!

The new update is adaptable, though I wish 0.70 accuracy was back. I just wish that the smg had slightly more recoil. With burst firing and crouching, you can hit targets at great distances with the smg.

Not being rewarded for skill and having your fate left to rng is never good game design. The rifle is just that- badly designed at this point in time. I could live with having the current level of deviation on follow-up shots within a 1 second timeframe, and as much as 20% of the current deviation on first shot, preferrably no deviation at all, but in its current state the rifle is outranged by the smg, purely because you can just crouch and spray to tilt probability in your favour. Getting mowed down at fog range by smg users when you're a rifleman is absolutely ludicrous. SMGs are supposed to be close-range dominance weapons, and rifles are supposed to be range queens- their roles are completely reversed!

The worst thing is that someone could just write a script that guesses when you will have an accurate shot or where you should shoot to get the accurate shot. With tf2 some people use this kind of hack to get critical hits all the time.
I suspect some people do have this kind of cheat since there are those few who get accurate shots 100% of the time

Not necessarily. Today I was getting at least 85-90% of my shots on target, and most were headshots. It is not solely based on luck. There is still skill involved. Its just a lot harder than before.

I never said skill wasn't involved. If you try to aim 180 degrees of your target, there is no way of you hitting him, but if you are withing a certain area you have a certain chance of hitting him, even if you d onot aim correctly because of chance based accuracy. Sometimes I get near correct aim out of my gun, some times it takes 5 headshots to kill one guy

Yeah, I used to think only MLG pros like mikuli could do it, but if I can, then most other people should be able to. I'm not saying that I'm bad, but I'm not the best.

Ummmm I wasn't playing when .70 was out, but all I know is that I personally can get accuracies of up to 60% with the .75 rifle AND I can keep it. Depends on what kind of day I'm having, but I can easily counter the recoil and get loads of headshots every game, even when enemies are behind structures. I will say that the rifle is very good for any range, but for me, it is also EXTREMELY accurate (hence why I voted for the .75 "random-shooting" rifle :/ ).

Yea the reason I like it is cause there is actually some challenge involved......most people that like the new accuracy, if you pay close attention, are probably people that crave an actual CHALLANGE from time to time. Playing with the .70 rifle, from the sounds of it, sounds like the game would be finished before it even started! Where is the sence of accomplishment if you just shoot, kill, and repeat using no skill what so ever?
