Anti-Hack as a priority.

Got a great new idea for the game?

Should Anti-Hack be a priority?

Yes! I would love to play the game and not see the kill history scrolling one guys name.

No, there are more important things like hellicopters to get to.

Not to dissuade you, but like Gorman and the others said/implied, anti-hack engines are a bandaid fix at best. They work for a little while until the hack is updated. Active server admins and empowering users to do something about hackers is the best way to deal with the problem IMO.

What about a daily-changing anti-hack algothirm?

And who is going to code that? seriously, it would be alot of effort. Admins and active users are the way to go.

I was just wondering if that's possible.

I think it probably would be possible, but not worth the effort

Lol, ok, on mondays we won't try and detect aimbots, on tuesdays the speed hacks check will be disabled, the rest of the week days will will have only the bullet hit-ray verification. The weekends we will turn everything off and randomly either have block placing and/or block destroying verification. Depending on the month we will verify weapon stats, and if the date is even we will turn on melee-range verification.

Sounds great!

I meant like different frequencies, you still block all the bad stuff but it's hard to dodge the blocks because it changes.

I think the basic problem here is that you can only stay ahead of the hack makers for so long. Ace of Spades is an indie game and doesn't have the resources to make daily tweaks to the anti-hack system (unless he never added new content/features). Like I said earlier, I think too much of a focus on hack prevention is a bit silly, and I believe the solution to be active admins and player empowerment.

Good idea. I ran into two people today on the same server, hacking to get air strikes. And one even dared to say he wasn't cheating after I started a vote kick!! He got one or two legit kills, but was killed eight or ten times. And he said he had them because he was doing good enough!!!! Sadly the vote kIck didn't get enough votes. :(

I agree with the idea of just using admins, because the cheats can just be updated anyway.

focusing on new content would be nice, this game has had barely any large new content for a long while

The ultimate anti-hack tool is to just give us first person spectator mode to eliminate all possibility of admin (human) error, as well as the possibility of recorded proof. Nothing else is required.

The best Idea to combat Exploiters and Hackers would be more Mods, Admins Etc

A program has loopholes everywhere in it,

More admins, More people to slam down the banhammer, nothing wrong there.
