Playing from my flashdrive

Postby IBTRIPPINU » Wed May 09, 2012 8:42 pm

I copied the files for AoS onto my flash-drive to try to play it anywhere i went that had a PC computer without having to reinstall. This doesn't seem to always work. When I tried to play today, I went to my flash-drive folder, clicked the play ace of spades internet link, and clicked on the MINIT US server, and it asked me what client to use, so i picked the file named 'client'. a message then showed up that said: "error: server connection failed". i also tried a few other servers, the same thing happened. that's all the details I have on what happened, does anyone know what went wrong and how to fix it?

you need to have a protocol added to the browser.
try using spadille (install it on the flash-drive)

Try running the client.exe from the command line with the server address as an argument like this:
Code: Select all
C:\AceofSpadesInstallDir>client.exe -aos://3836168268:32887

I actually cant play this game on my own computer, and i use it on my dad's laptop because my CPU became obsolete somehow. My dad is an engineer and does NOT want people making any commands with the command prompt without his permission.

How is his being an engineer relevant? :@
Anyway, a) ask for his permission, b) do it without his permission or c) find some other way to launch the executable with the correct argument.
Using a shortcut to the executable is one way of doing it: just create one that points to "</path/to/client.exe> -aos://link". Probably a little tedious if you use more than one or two servers but it works and gives you a way to access the servers without even checking a server list.
