Having mouse issues

Postby shadowspiny » Sat May 12, 2012 12:57 pm

Hi, I'm a Linux user who is having trouble running this game under wine.

Start-up works OK and I can even get to the game, but when I try to play my mouse is "Boxed in" so to speak. The way it acts is as if the game is just a wall paper and I can't go outside the desktop boundaries. I feel really stupid for not being able to figure this out, because it seems I am the only one who has this problem :(

If need be, I could post a screen shot of this issue.

Thanks in advance :)

I had similar problem. Try fresh wine configuration (rename .wine in your home directory to anything) and reinstall the game. If it doesn't work for you then try windowed mode. I remember it worked.

For me, new release of AoS fixed this problem and I thought there was a problem with client, but apparently not.

Hmmmm...
Windowed mode seems to fix the problem, but the mouse sensitivity is dangerously low. I tried fixing this in the config file by upping the mouse sensitivity from 5 to 10 (Which is the maximum I believe) but I barely see any change. If there is a way to fix this please reply, if not at least the game is playable now ;)

Have you tried fresh wine configuration without any soft installed (besides AoS of course)?
What is your wine version `wine --version`? I have 1.4 and I don't have this problem any more.
Also which distro are you running?

You could also try changing your system mouse sensitivity to make windowed mode more playable.
