I am hoping the auto-update opens the door for rapid bug fixing

Yes please!
But you should be able to change your IGN (servers and all behind the scenes stuff would use a static account ID). Also bans should be like Minecraft- each server keeps track of its own ban list. None of this silly global banning system.

Also can there be an option in the server config to instantly perma-ban any user who tries to ban someone for "aimbotting".
please... Pretty please?

@Booyo, Rydogger:
As Danhezee said, the launcher (while mainly designed for login), contains an auto-updater. I imagine that if .75 had the auto-updater in it, most of the current balancing issues etc would have been fixed within a week of release. I'm not surprised bcoolface has been hesitant to make an entirely new release just to fix a few things.

With this, new patches can be installed onto what you already have, it's very handy for both end-users (us) and the dev team who can give us new content much more easily.

<@mikuli> the bad part in this plan is that it involves an already busy tea-drinking scone chomper with a monocle

I think that some small things (e.g swearing, some small griefing) should be in one server only, but major things, e.g confirmed hackers, should have a global perma-ban.

Every server does keep its own log of bans. The Global Banlist is just for Big Time hackers and cheaters

Just out of curiosity, and apart from the fact that I am not going to read all of the 116 comments, is it going to be possible to edit our in-game names?

With this you would need to clear the ban list to make it fair.

How would this be useful? Banned players should stay banned, regardless
