The guns were balanced, period. Good players were good with every weapon, bad players sucked with every weapon. The fact that deuces prefer the SMG and good players prefer rifle created an illusion that the rifle is an extremely overpowered one-shotting death-machine, when the SMG's hurting as much as a thrown pillow.
I agree, .70 weapons WERE perfect.
Shotgun could reliably kill people at 20 blocks away in one shot, SMG could take people out from afar ONLY if you knew what you were doing, and RIFLE was perfect. If they want to nerf the rifle the only thing that should happen is decrease its RoF. Aside from that it should be pinpoint, just don't be an idiot and run around in the open.
I think all the people complaining about rifle accuracy frequented the servers that hosted the pinpoint/assault maps, either that or they were just really bad players.
.70 balance was like this
Rifle = long range destruction, and could handle close quarters only if you were skilled and the other players wasn't (why not just increase hipfire spread? I dont think people would complain, and it would stop panic head shots at close range
SMG = Great mid distance weapon, just pop fire and you killed people in just a second or two. But it actually took skill and getting a head shot did 50 instead of SEVETYF***INGFIVEDAMAGE!!! so not only did it prevent easily 2-shotting people, but it kept you from being fodder to all of the other weapons if you were unlucky enough to get shot in the head once. It was also great for spraying small groups on enemies in close quarters.
Shotgun = Close range killer. And since we know AoS is a BIG game with BIG maps it didnt have to have call of duty ranges to be considered "fair". If you knew what you were doing and sneaked up on people, you could take somebody down in 2-3 shots up to 60 blocks away. No, it couldnt "snipe" you, and no it didnt outclass the SMG/Rifle as they both could kill you faster at those ranges. But its tight spread also meant you could kill people at 30 blocks without having to worry about missing COMPLETELY with 5 out of 6 shots, only to be magically 1 shotted by an enemy using shotgun at a farther distance!
Seriously, ben must've been smoking something when he decided to turn the shotgun into roulette weapon.

Honestly? I enjoy running around from cover to cover without 100% accuracy snipers taking me out the second I move.
I want to be able to move without entrenched snipers always killing me in one shot. The shot wander makes the rifle less effective at extremely long range (fog range), and I'm fine with that (As a matter of fact I've still been headshot by it at fog range). You have SIXTY GOD DAMN BULLETS. TWO to THREE of them MINIMUM will kill someone. STOP COMPLAINING. I'll finish my work today, go all rifle today, and dominate charts all day long on any server you choose that isn't a sniper fodder map (personal preference, since you don't really need any skill to shoot into a wall of flesh).
I'll post it in this thread, just to make you stop complaining. The only trouble I have with the SMG/Rifle is shooting at fog range, and shotgun is just bad and unpredictable, so it's invalid.

SMG needs a slight nerf.
Shotty needs an overall buff
Semi is okay.
Putin wrote:Semi should be 100% accurate at stand/crouch and Shit accuracy at movement. Also Rof is to high makes it a hold mouse and spray noob weapon it must be nerfed.
