For all things AoS!

What's wrong with aimbotters? It makes me laugh seeing one of them enter a match thinking they'll get away with it. I'd love to hear them cry once they realize they can no longer play.

Also, it isn't our problem there are so many aimbotters. It's the servers themselves. If a decent server had enough, active admins and an anti-aimbot script you wouldn't have to worry about a single one of them.

Zeke i can tell this game is going to get alot more popular and as it does it will be a botting battle just like runescape, so if server admins kick or ban an ip they just join another like no big deal and do it again its a game problem not as much as a server problem

If it's a game problem, then Ben should be doing something to fix it. Fortunately, with mat^2's new engine, aimbots should be broken for a while. After that gets released, Ben needs to work on aimbot prevention.

Basically what I'm saying is that this is mostly out of our hands. We'll just have to hang on and keep banning.

What will stop them from joining again? Even if you do ban an ip, you can get hide my ip or change my ip programs while you play; im not saying anyone will go that far to do it but still nothing seems permanent

That's why I'm saying this is out of our hands.

Although you /could/ rangeban, but those have rather large "splash zones" of affected people.

MAC Address ban, that is all.
... I was gone for a month and came back to a game that hadn't changed a bit.

That is also a possibility, but we need to be able to do that. As of right now, we can only ban by IP.

I think as the game progress we will find away but then again the hackers will to. By that i mean we will find solutions in future updates but hackers will find temp ways to hack.

Hide My IP is an in-browser proxy, and only changes the IP for your browser. It wouldn't work for AoS. And a lot of VPNs are already banned.

^Too bad it's not that hard to change your IP regardless. MAC address not so much.

Lets just all hope for the best.

We have discussed anti-aimbot technology. There should be an elegant solution in the next few updates.

still like build said its easy if i go banned i probably would use my phones wifi hotspot to play, i highly doubt there's a way to fully banned someone for botting, etc.

And then they get banned from there when they aimbot again. It's not elegant, but it works. And I've been riding the GBL people to add more hackers to the list.

It's pretty trivial.

Yeah, I thought there was some way to screw with the MAC address, but I wasn't sure. MAC address banning is definitely not the answer.
