Nope, Photoshop is number one, followed by GIMP.
Note: I've never used Paint.NET, so my opinion is totally biased. :P
Edit: And chocolate is awesome.

I use a lot. It is very good, especially if you add some of the awesome effects and plugins to it from their forums.

I use Paint.net since it's user-friendly. Since I can't be bothered to get Photoshop (which is ALWAYS better than either two), I use PDN.

Gimp has and interface that is very unfamiliar and unintuitive, that's why I don't use it. On the other hand, Gimp has much more abilities and effects than what PDN could ever do.

If you're a beginner, I would suggest PDN. If you want function and professionalism over user-friendliness, use Gimp.
To a Physicist, white and black is the presence and absence of color.
To a Fine Artist, white and black are just shades and tints of color.
To a Painter, any paint that you could get into a can is a color.
THIS color, on the other hand, is #b4d455.

Hahaha, yeah. Took me forever to find out how to 'cut' out pictures.

Paint.net feels good in use, and does everything I actually even need. For more advanced photo editing I use Photoshop of course, but Paint.net has always been the thing on me.

My laptop does not have internet and my computer can't run Paint.net so I use gimp.

Note: Photoshop has free trial for 30 days but all you have to do Is re-download it :)
