Was I banned? (Read b4 posting)

Yeah, I know this is the wrong forum for this, but no one has succesfully answered my question on either the IRC or the Goon Haven website.

So about a month ago, I was banned for cheating on Goon Haven. The ban got lifted, and I went back to playing. Now just yesterday, I got banned again. The weird thing is, I disconnected manually (Esc Y), so why would someone ban me after I left? I asked the same question on goonhaven.org, and someone told me that I changed my IP, and no one noticed until yesterday. This doesn't make sense because:

-I don't even think changing your IP is possible. Doesn't your internet provider give you a fixed one so that they can track it?

-I kept the exact same username after the "unban," and had many conversations with admins over the course of the last 3 weeks or so. Not one of them ever asked me how I got back into the server, and I'm guessing this is because they knew I was let back in by an admin.

Ok fine, so maybe this is because they thought someone else unbanned me. This is unlikely, because on my original Ban Appeal, admins were saying that my ban is not going to be lifted. Some of the admins who were regularily looking at and replying to the thread must have seen "my ban is not going to be lifted" and they talked to me on several occasions, and once again, no one was even suspicious. Therefore, they talked behind closed doors about unbanning me.

^All this untrue? Well, maybe the fact that there were no complaints towards me during the few weeks of my "unban" means something. I read this news article a while back about this wrongfully convicted murderer who was finally recaptured, but they let him go because he intermingled with the public peacefully for 20 years before they brought him back in.

One of the only "I got banned threads" that should be looked at. You are in quite the odd situation. The problem with Goon Haven is it's such a big server provider that someone with an unjust ban is easily overlooked. My best suggestion is to talk it over with the admins if at all possible. If you get a "Gtfo, your banned," you should probably just try some other servers. I suggest some of the smaller, closely monitored servers like "Sham's Little Pony."

I answered this on the GH forums, but I'll answer again. Most internet connections are non-static IP addresses. This means that the IP address will NOT stay the same for long. It could happen every week, it could happen every few months. It cost extra to have a static IP, and if you are not running a server on it, there is no reason to have a static IP. So, your IP changed.

As for the admins, they do have a closed forum, they are probably bogged down by admin apps, ban appeals, and server problems. They just opened another server, and GH is ridiculously popular right now. Honestly, I would think that ban appeals is tied for the bottom of the priority list with admin apps, if not the bottom of the list. There is a huge amount of requests for admin, and server problems obviously come first. Keep in mind, they all run the server in their spare time. They don't get paid to do it, so if it takes time for them to respond, there is your reason.

That all being said, this is still a very peculiar situation. Even with the lack of time admins have to keep track of EVERYTHING, and the massive amount of stuff they have to remember, I still think one of the admins that was talking to you would have banned you before Thalagyrt got to you. It's very odd...

Changing your is possible its called a Proxy... But I wouldn't suggest using one to evade banning.

Further info: Your internal IP changes practically every time you restart your computer, your external IP changes every time you restart your router/modem.
