Smaller maps would be intense in a different way. The restricted forward push makes pinpoint fun.

Flat maps are rifle unfriendly? I suppose if the trees allow the enemy to lay in ambush MAYBE. But a little agent orange and you have one giant rifle killzone.

Flat maps make proper flanking with SMGs difficult, since you can't hide behind the terrain as you advance, and make the already easy task of lining up rifle headshots rather trivial since there is only lateral movement.

Just need to take advantage of all the features of Ace of Spades so the SMGers are forced to fight on your own terms. Break down all the trees, construct some thick low walls to hide behind, and the only option they have is to try to defeat you in a pissing match.
And while the SMG is slightly better at it than it used to be, it is still inferior against targets in heavy cover at a long distance than a well-placed rifle headshot.

I will agree with the arena maps though. I played on a deck17 arena, and the narrow firing lines and abundance of ambush spots combined with the predominantly close- and mid-range fighting to make it essentially the perfect SMG map. Would be good for the shotgun too, if it wasn't just useless now.

Anyways, I haven't played Pp2, but I'm pretty sure higher ground is an improvement.

Pinpoint is fun if you just want to kill people.

Especially when water damage is on. That way its all funneled down to a pinpoint and everyone dies.

I don't like water damage on maps like gen. Overall I really don't like pinpoint that much. I do like boundary damage on servers such as aloha, because you can only stay within fog limit.
