We need more people with GBL access.

Before we go giving people GBL access we should wait for countermeasures to improve.
Aimbotters don't seem to be too much of a problem when I play. It doesn't seem to sway the game THAT much, and, well....maybe I'm not as "passionate" as most of you. This isn't necessarily EVE online, and the picturesque game you desire doesn't seem to be worth such extreme measures.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the GBL is generally used for ban evading aimbotters/griefers/extremes(misc.).

When it comes down to aimbotters, you either hide and a T1/2/3 script catches them, or tell an admin on the IRC. (I think this is where that "server mafia" ideology comes in. Pro's and Con's I'm too lazy to list at 1 in the morning.)

I've never been hit with any of these scripts either, but I've seen mikuli get a couple of false positives. Then again, we're not all mikulis, and the T3 script seems to be the most reliable when I am playing.

Either way, GBL accessibility seems like the precursor of an AVO/MCBans ordeal......

It's the best we have various people access to GBL in different timezones, so the servers can be monitored 24/7.
I suggest we interview those who want to have GBL access with Skype first.

More and more people are getting access to the GBL, but it takes time!
Just like getting new serveradmins it's a long process...
They need to be experienced with both the game and the hacks.
We must be sure that they can be trusted, and you can't determine that on a skype call!

build: I host two 24/7 servers names Minit EU and Mint US

And on Minit we have over 20st admins, where there's mostly an admin in game,
if not there are at least 10 people watching the server from IRC.

I'm sure that "private" server wouldn't solve the problem in anyway
Instead you should be glad that there are 24/7,
because we try to collaborate with common admins,
and shared banlists

Which most of the people I have suggested are...I think that because of the recent outbreak of aimbotters, we should allow more server-admins on the GBL. I never meant to start any of these mini-wars, and that is all.

I disagree on the edit, I'd like to hear the community's opinion on this too.

And there's no real way, just like there's no way to regulate the admins currently on. There was an issue a while back with a GBL admin who added fake bans, I guess the same would occur, punishments given, bans undone, etc...

^Theres a good 3 pages of it so far, I don't know how much of it is spam but more importantly TGM hasn't responded yet. It'd help to have Administrative input on something like this I'd think. Thats all I wanted to see really.

Yeah, I'm curious what they think as well. And yeah, I'd assume the same would happen as last time. People would dispute their falsely given bans, they would get undone, etc...

God knows were I to be given GBL privileges, I'd be under heavy-ass scrutiny. I'd keep picture proof of the bans I make.

If I was tGM this is what I would say,
"My fellow Ace Of Spades members, this suppressing matter that has been raised by our fellow PXYC brings up several statements which I wish to present to you listeners. The purpose of GBL has been issued to insure protection from hoochers, it is a powerful tool which is in direct connection with the master server and needs to be moderated by highly trusted members. I for my part adjure the decision reason for this articulation is that if we permit several members to become admins for the GBL, many more will want to become one. Making them try to get attention in ways repugnant ways which can cause major stress. Thank you for your time.

Though I am not tGM so I don't know what he would say.
What I think that should happen is when a person hacks, the admin for that server gets his IP and posts it on a topic
where the admin for GBL can add it.

I like the idea of GBL.I play allot on server : MINIT US.And I think that some trusted players on that server do great work. But not everybody has time to be online all the time.So i agree whit The thread.

But you need to be carefull whit selecting people.
