We need more people with GBL access.

I for one, am sick of aimbotters in our servers.
It is getting to a point where we need more people who can stop them from coming back. My idea is that we give certain trusted people around the community GBL access.
Personally, I don't like seeing an aimbotter in one server, banning them, and having to deal with them later. I'm sure people who host servers don't want to deal with this. Some people I think should get some sort of access to the GBL:

-ReubenMcHawk (Minit)
-Myself (Minit, aloha, Dany0)
-Danko (aloha)
-USABxBOOYO (GH)
-Mario/Mariokillu/MKU (Minit)
-Tocksman (GH, he may have it already)
There are many more, but with the help of these people, we can stop what is now known as hooching¹ from being used in Ace of Spades forever!

---Like Reuben said, the anti-aimbot script is not a sufficient hack stopper. I've been kicked by it before, when I've barely gotten any kills.

¹"hooching": use of a very specific hack by Hooch which includes an aimbot. Currently the only publically available aimbot specifically made for AoS.

I'm also almost certain there's more than just an aimbot included in the hack. I've run into guys who get 1-shot kills with the SMG, which is impossible.

Like I said in IRC, don't count on me getting GBL access. A lot of people in this community still pretty much hate me, mainly the ones that don't know me. But I do agree, we need more people on there.

EDIT: @FaZE: Yes, it is in there, but the aimbot is the main component, and the most detectable imo.

I am not saying that everyone that admins a server should automatically get GBL access, but only trusted people that have been known to use their banning rights correctly.

udrunkbro? It's kinda hard to tell the difference between a good player and a hacker. I've personally gotten permabanned from GoonHaven, Aloha, and The Komrade Server at the same time, until someone reviewed my case and I got let back in to all 3 of them.

Plus, the auto-kick system in this game is retarded. (Which is prob why I constantly get banned. Ppl see "FaZe kicked: rapid-hack detected," and think I'm cheating.) Hold down the fire button for a while and you get kicked for rapid-hack. Spam the mouse around ur screen and you get kicked for aimbotting. Go on a server with a bad connection and you get kicked for speed-hack.

I'm also putting forward Exor (GH) as a suggestion, he's pretty good at spotting aimbots.

And yes, ReubenMcHawk is actually a very good admin. If you're not going to give him access, make sure that someone who's on at the same time and pays attention is given it.

Yes, there's more than just that. When I spot someone with a high KDR and I give them time, and I see "Rapid hack detected", it's a sign that they were probably hooching.

It depends on the player. Sometimes they are very obvious - a slow, straight-liner player should not have a KDR of 7, people shouldn't snap 70-odd degrees going down an alleyway and slow down, people shouldn't climb hills sideways / backwards. It's best to give some leniency.

Admins should know that the "rapidhack" detection isn't perfect (also pyspades currently doesn't kick for "speedhacking", but same would apply if it still did) and can be triggered by crap connections.

I'll be the first to say the anti-aimbot script has way too many false positives. I'm barely comfortable with it banning players from a single server atm, nor would I ever dream of GBLing a player based solely off of it. All bans I've made on Minit have been manually made, and were verified.

Ha. Ha... Ha..... maybe the first in this thread, but people have said it many times before. A somewhat recent update to pyspades involved bumping up the thresholds, but I don't know how well that works.

I do find T1 to be fairly accurate, as I have tested myself. T2 and T3 need work though... sadly they both seem to be the ones most capable of catching aimbotters.

Actually, one could look into detecting if someone's doing more than one pallet per shot, or if the shotgun's pallets are just waaaaay too accurate.

I'm pretty sure they do kick for speed hacking. There's notifications saying "iasdjfasjdhfbajsdfbh kicked: speedhack detected (or really bad connection)

I agree wholeheartedly with this thread. The cheating detectors, especially the aimbot detectors, in their current state are not very reliable. To add to that, I've seen plenty of people get past these detectors anyway, causing me to have to manually ban them.

Also, I believe Pink Floyd should be added to this list. He has proven proficient at catching cheaters.

And yes, Tocksman already has GBL access.

You could get rid of all the 24/7 servers and then have people host the game normally. Therefore it's more likely that the server host is actually playing the game to ban people. - That always worked in other games.

Then again that would ruin the hosters mafia you guys are trying to make ;D

All of the people that were suggested are very trusted members of the community. 24/7 servers are actually a great thing in AoS, and the idea to take them away is terrible.

How? -change the master server log to time out a connection that has been running without a present server host for over 3 hours.

Why? - to reduce the amount of encounters with hackers while no admin is present. (Votekick could be changed to be more effecient but...

You could have votekick bonuses for active and respected members of of the forums

Also I'm trying to kill the hosters mafia bofore it begins, so it doesn't in turn kill this game.

(Maybe I should ask how long you guys have been playing online games...)

Lastly boosting people's knowledge of server hosting would be a general boost to the community.
